Posting three times a week isn't a marketing strategy anymore.

There. I said it.

Your next customer may never search Google, scroll through your page or visit ten different websites trying to decide who to hire.

They may simply ask AI: “Who do you recommend?”

And THAT changes what your marketing needs to accomplish.

Social media matters—but it's only one piece.

Your social content, website, blogs, LinkedIn articles, Google Business Profile and reviews should all be telling the same story about:

Who you are.
What you know.
What you do.
Who you help.
And why you're worth recommending.

We're no longer creating content just to feed an algorithm or fill a posting calendar.

We're building digital authority.

Because the question isn't just:

“Can customers find your business?”

It's becoming:

“Does AI know enough about your business to recommend you?”

If you don't know the answer to that question, we should talk.

Main character energy isn’t about attention.

It’s about intention.

It’s not about making sure everyone notices you.

It’s about making sure you notice your own life.

Who gets your time, what gets your energy, what you tolerate, and what you postpone.

Are there things you say yes to when every part of you wants to say no?

I think it’s about waking up and deciding that your days will no longer be built around keeping everyone else comfortable.

It’s deciding where your life is going and then becoming less available for anything that keeps pulling you in the opposite direction.

You don’t need more people watching you. Maybe you need fewer distractions controlling you?

And instead of being the center of the room, you become the center of your own decisions.

The real flex isn’t getting everyone’s attention, it’s building a life where you no longer need attention as validation.

And it all started with your intention

Years ago, a man I worked for told me something that has stayed with me ever since:

"Sometimes you have to fire a client."

At the time, I didn't give it much thought. Twenty-plus years later, I finally understand what he meant.

This is my protect your peace era.

I've realized that protecting your peace isn't about avoiding difficult conversations or hard work. It's about recognizing when something is costing you more than it's giving you.

Sometimes that's a client.

The one who drains your energy, questions every recommendation, ignores your expertise, and leaves you dreading every email.

Walking away isn't failure.

It's creating space for the clients who trust you, respect your work, and allow you to do what you do best.

But this lesson doesn't stop with business. Sometimes protecting your peace means letting go of a friendship you've outgrown. It also means saying no without an explanation.

I've stopped trying to convince people of my decisions and accept that not everyone understands my boundaries.

Nothing is off the table anymore. If something consistently costs me my peace, it costs too much.

Maybe you're in your protect your peace era too.

AI didn't kill creativity. It exposes weak thinking.

There seems to be two camps when it comes to AI. Those who love it and those who believe it's ruining creativity.

I see it a little differently.

I don't think AI killed creativity. I think it exposed weak thinking.

AI only knows what you tell it. If you ask it to "create a flyer" or "write a social media post," it will happily do exactly that. But if your messaging isn't clear, if you don't understand your audience, or if you haven't thought through the strategy, AI can't magically fix those things.

It simply amplifies what's already there.

That's why so much AI-generated content feels the same. It isn't because everyone is using the same technology. It's because many people are starting with the same shallow inputs.

The businesses getting exceptional results with AI aren't necessarily better at writing prompts.

They're better at thinking, know who they are talking to, understand the problem they solve, have a clear message, and know how to articulate the message.

As a marketing strategist, that's the part that excites me most. AI hasn't replaced strategy. If anything, it's made strategy more valuable than ever.

Long before I owned a marketing agency, I learned one of the most important lessons about storytelling. I just didn't realize it at the time.

This blurry photo is one of the few pictures we have from 1999.

Back then there were no smartphones. No Facebook. No Instagram Stories. Just one early digital camera and a website my ex-husband built to keep family and friends updated on our newborn son, Zephan.

Looking back, it was essentially a blog years before blogging became mainstream.

Zephan was born with two life-threatening conditions and was placed on ECMO, a machine that temporarily does the work of the heart and lungs while a body fights to heal.

Every day we posted another update.

It wasn't to build an audience or have anything to do with content marketing.

We simply couldn't emotionally survive making dozens of heartbreaking phone calls every day.

So we wrote.

People kept coming back, not because they were fascinated by ECMO or medical terminology.

They came back because they cared about a little boy they'd never met.

They celebrated every victory with us, like the day he came off ECMO, the first time I held him, the first time his dad held him, the first bottle, and finally when we brought him home.

This week I reread those journal entries for the first time in a very long time.

It struck me that the most important lesson about sharing a story is this:

People don't connect with information. They connect with humanity.

No one came back to our website because they understood ECMO.

They came back because they cared, hoped, and prayed.

Today, I spend a lot of time helping businesses tell their stories, and it's funny to realize that one of the greatest lessons I ever learned about storytelling didn't come from marketing at all.

It came from one of the hardest seasons of my life.

Platforms and technology will change. But people will always be drawn to stories that remind us what it means to be human.

Not every marketing agency offers exclusivity.

I do.

When a client hires me at my highest level, they're not just hiring someone to film content for a few hours each month.

They're gaining a marketing partner with over 20 years of experience.

I'm there for strategy calls, unexpected opportunities, networking events, launches, content ideas, media opportunities, and those moments when something happens and you need someone who already knows your business.

I won't duplicate that level of support across competing businesses.

That's why I only work with one business per category at this level.

When I commit to helping a business become the recognized leader in its space, my focus stays on helping them win, not their competition.

It's not about creating scarcity.

It's about honoring the commitment I've made to my clients.

It's also about loyalty.

If you're looking for more than someone to create content, someone who will help you build visibility, authority, and opportunities, let's have a conversation.

I only reserve one exclusive client per business category.

Is your category still available?

Comment with your business type or send me a message, and I'll let you know.

What if the biggest thing holding your business back isn't your product or service... but the fact that people can't find you?

I see it all the time.

A business owner who is incredibly talented.
Amazing customer service.
A product they truly believe in.

But when I search for them online...

Their website is outdated.
Their Google Business Profile is incomplete.
Their social media hasn't been updated in months.
Reviews are scarce.
And now, AI has very little information to recommend them.

Meanwhile, a competitor with a stronger online presence is getting the calls.

Not because they're better.

Because they're easier to find.

I've become convinced that one of the biggest competitive advantages today isn't simply having a great business—it's having great visibility.

Customers don't just stumble across businesses anymore. They research. They compare. They read reviews. They visit websites. They check social media. Increasingly, they're even asking AI for recommendations.

If they can't find you...
they can't trust you.

And if they can't trust you...
they won't choose you.

That's exactly why I've shifted my focus toward Business Visibility—helping businesses become easier to find, easier to trust, and ultimately, easier to choose.

Have you ever discovered an amazing local business and wondered, "Why didn't I know about them sooner?"

Big news for my clients.

Beginning August 1st, every social media client will receive my Business & AI Visibility Assessment™ as part of their monthly marketing package.

This isn't just another report.

It's a comprehensive evaluation of how your business is being discovered, perceived, and recommended across your website, Google Business Profile, social media, search, and AI-powered platforms—along with a personalized roadmap to strengthen your visibility.

The best part?

It's included with every ongoing social media package, including my entry-level plan starting at $500 per month.

Because creating content is only part of the equation.

If customers can't find you, trust you, and choose you, your marketing isn't working as hard as it should.

I'm excited to start delivering even more value to the businesses I have the privilege of serving.

Using AI or refusing to use it isn't what determines whether your business succeeds.

Strategy does.

Right now, business owners are wearing a dozen different hats. They're serving customers, managing employees, handling finances, putting out fires, and somehow trying to find time for marketing.

So when they need a flyer, social media graphic, or ad, they do what millions of others are doing.

They open ChatGPT or another AI tool and ask it to create one.

The problem isn't AI.

The problem is that thousands of businesses are asking nearly the same questions.

The result?

Marketing that looks like everyone else's.

If your marketing blends in, it's much harder to be remembered.

That's where strategy changes everything.

Before I create a single graphic, I work through a three-step process that defines:

• Who we're trying to reach
• What message needs to be communicated
• How we can make it visually distinctive

Only then do I use AI to help bring that strategy to life.

AI isn't my creative director.

It's one of the tools in my toolbox.

Because the goal isn't to create another pretty graphic.

It's to create marketing that makes someone stop scrolling, pay attention, and remember your business.

Have you noticed that more and more businesses are starting to look alike? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
