HCC SkillsUSA Chapter will be hosting 2 different 5K Color Runs on Friday, October 18th. They will take place at 8:30 and 12:30 from HCC. Cost is $10. The public is invited to participate. The funds will be used for club expenses and competitions. Participants are asked to wear a plain white shirt. To register or ask questions, please call the school at 573-581-5684 ext 2702.

Thanks for giving our students the opportunity to communicate and create! It takes a village!!

At a recent school board candidate forum, I mentioned that I had my school board election signs printed at Hart Career Center. I had heard around town that HCC students do an excellent job creating marketing materials so I went with them to do my yard signs. I wanted to stay local and being able to include the students with hands on career training, was a perfect way to support the students and the district.

Soon after the candidate forum, I (and others!) received questions from our local paper regarding campaign finance and elections.

Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that there should have been a printed statement on the signs reading, “Paid for by candidate.”
I would like to let you all know that I personally paid the $106 to Hart Career Center for the 25 signs designed and printed at HCC.

It is my understanding that a story may soon be published regarding my election signs and this error so I wanted to be the first to tell you that I own this mistake in the design process! I’ve already contacted the Missouri Ethics Commission to rectify this immediately.

I was elected to the Mexico School Board because I wanted to serve our students. As a MHS alum and Mexico parent, I am so excited to proudly to serve you and our children as a Board of Education member! Thank you for your continued support!

The district skills competition has been rescheduled for this Thursday, February 14, when the weather should be 52 degrees! 🤞🏼

At this time, the district skills competition, to be held at Hart Career Center tomorrow, has been postponed. We will keep our students and sending schools updated as more information becomes available.
