four years.
four years of talking to a camera in my car.
four years of posting and wondering if anyone was even listening.
four years of my family not really understanding what i was doing.
four years of being terrified of what people from my old life would think.
“is she selling something?” “why is she always online?” “who does she think she is?”
i felt all of it.
i was shy. like genuinely shy.
the girl who rehearsed what she was going to say before phone calls.
the girl who would film 12 takes of a 15 second video and still talk herself out of posting it.
i was scared of being seen.
scared of being judged.
scared of looking like i was trying too hard or not knowing enough or being too much.
so i almost didn’t start. almost stayed quiet. almost kept the dream small enough that nobody could laugh at it.
but something in me wouldn’t let it go. 🌿
so i kept showing up. imperfectly. inconsistently at first. cringing at my own content sometimes. posting anyway.
and then one day. four years in. a girl slid into my dms and said you inspired me to start.
and i just sat there.
all those years of being scared. all those takes i deleted. all those times i almost quit.
it all made sense in that one moment.
the cringe wasn’t the enemy. the hiding was.
if you’ve been waiting until it feels comfortable to show up, it won’t. not at first. but someone out there needs to see you do it anyway.
save this if you needed to hear it.
