We built this in Midjourney using a rigid stack of moodboards, reference images, and descriptions of statue types.

Here is an example of a prompt we used: “Marble bust of a bearded Roman philosopher, the left side of the face is cracked open to reveal a complex titanium endoskeleton and glowing circuitry, heavy chiaroscuro lighting, pitch black background, 8k resolution, hyper-realistic texture, subsurface scattering on marble”

Specificity wins. Curate your inputs to force the exact aesthetic you need rather than accepting the default output.

One of our favorite films at Scauros is Interstellar. If you’re looking to capture that same IMAX Nolan feel in MidJourney, Sora, Kling, or Veo, be sure to use exact cinematic language, describe your compositions, and research what cameras and locations were actually used for the shots you want to emulate.

For example, here’s one of our prompts:
“IMAX Ultrawide shot of a lone astronaut kneeling down in centerframe on a gloomy beach. Hoyte Von Hoytema style Cinematography, Natural lighting, Cinematic grain --ar 9:16 --raw.”

The challenge? Start treating MidJourney (or your generative AI of choice) not as an AI slop generator, but think of it as a camera. Think about lens choices, framing, and mood the way a cinematographer would, and describe the shot you’d film.

Take a look at a logo overhaul we completed for Matrioshka games in January 2022. At the beginning of our discovery phase, we found that our client wanted us to improve their concept rather than start anew.

With this in mind, the first step was to find a typeface that was more legible and on-brand. We went with a serif font called 'Polaris'.

Next, we had to address the logomark itself. Which was an abstract tech vector. We took the core pieces of the geometry and simplified it to make it easier to print and see at great distances.
