So, where did our name come from? We wanted something easy to remember and a way to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Mother Road.
Our name was born.
Yes. 1415 E. Steve Owens Blvd. in Miami, Oklahoma is located on Historic Route 66. The address is on the section of roadway that carries the Historic Route 66 designation through Miami, even though the street's local name is Steve Owens Boulevard.
This can be a little confusing because:
Steve Owens Boulevard is the local street name.
That street is also part of Historic Route 66 through Miami.
Many businesses at that address (including Rt. 66 Tavern) promote themselves as being on Historic Route 66, which is accurate.
Specifically, this address sits on the 1937 alignment of the Mother Road. In Miami, the route has underwent changes over the years.
