In Loving Memory of Thelma Gibson 🕊️

Armstrong Creative Consulting joins South Florida in honoring the life and legacy of a true community pillar.

Rooted in Coconut Grove and proud of her Bahamian heritage, Thelma Gibson lived a life grounded in purpose and service. A pioneering nurse, civil rights champion, and trusted community connector, she helped shape a stronger, more just South Florida through her courage and compassion.

As the first Black nurse at Jackson Memorial Hospital, she broke barriers in healthcare while leading with compassion, dignity, and grace. Known for her gentle spirit and unwavering belief in community, Thelma dedicated her life to uplifting others and creating pathways for future generations.

For her, civic engagement was a family affair — a legacy of service that will continue to ripple across South Florida through all those she inspired.

At ACC, our commitment to community outreach is rooted in honoring leaders like Thelma — those whose lives remind us that real impact begins at the neighborhood level, through care, advocacy, and action.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, and all who were touched by her remarkable life.
