When trust is at stake, a crisis can quickly become a branding challenge.

In the latest episode of SMS Soundbytes, we’re looking at the growing scrutiny surrounding Flock Safety, from privacy concerns and camera misuse to Florida’s decision to revoke permits for its license-plate reader technology.

The PR lesson? Transparency and accountability can’t wait for a crisis. When trust is central to your brand, your guardrails need to be part of the story from the start.

Dolly Parton was more than a music icon. She was a masterclass in personal branding, public relations, and staying power.

For more than six decades, Dolly built a brand that was instantly recognizable, deeply authentic and remarkably resilient. She knew how to promote herself, champion other artists, turn business ventures into extensions of her brand, and connect with generations of audiences without losing what made her uniquely Dolly.

She was also intentional about staying above the political fray, allowing her music, philanthropy, humor and humanity to speak louder than controversy. Her ability to remain broadly beloved while navigating an increasingly polarized culture is a communications lesson that feels especially relevant today.

As a majority female firm, we’re especially inspired by Dolly as a trailblazer who built an extraordinary career on her own terms while opening doors for others along the way.

Dolly leaves behind a legacy that extends far beyond music. She showed us what it looks like to build a brand with purpose, protect it with intention and, most importantly, use it to lift others up.

Rest in peace, Dolly. 💕

After nearly a decade, Miami residents will finally have the opportunity to weigh in on the future of a beloved waterfront asset in Virginia Key.

A Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge has cleared the way for a November referendum on the proposed redevelopment of the Rickenbacker and Marine Stadium marinas - a project that would transform a marina used by some into a waterfront destination designed to be enjoyed by all, all through private investment at no cost to Miami taxpayers.

If approved by voters, the proposal would bring approximately $80 million in privately funded investment to the 27.6-acre property. Developed by Virginia Key LLC - a joint venture between RCI Group and Suntex Marinas that was selected twice as the top-ranked development team through a public RFP process - the plans include:

Modernized marina will meet growing demand among Miami boaters
Waterfront promenade open to the public year-round
New dining and shopping for families
Improved access to Biscayne Bay, including kayak and paddleboard launches
Additional public parking
Urban tree canopy and landscaping

Tea is having a moment in luxury real estate, as developers look to wellness and more intentional ways of gathering to shape the next generation of residential amenities.

A new Mansion Global () feature explores the growing trend of tea-focused spaces and programming at luxury residential developments across the country, as buyers increasingly gravitate toward wellness-focused experiences.

Among the projects featured is The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami (), where a teardrop-shaped tea pavilion overlooking Biscayne Bay will offer residents a dedicated setting for afternoon tea and tastings.
