We have some solid clinics AND classes coming up in June at The Proving Grounds in Middlefield, OH! These clinics are welcoming to shooters of all skill levels and are a great way to get quality reps in at the range in a timely manner.

These 4 hour clinics will be a taste of what you will experience in a Redline Consulting Performance class. These clinics are heavily repetition based with an emphasis on speed and accountability. We will be breaking down everything with a thorough explanation and plenty of range time to put these practices into play. Each teaching point is implemented with skills and drills so that you walk away with an understanding of the fundamentals and some homework to help you with your own range sessions. We also have an 8 hour rifle performance class scheduled this month which will be a much deeper dive than what we get into at clinics!

Our goal is for you to walk away from this knowing what you need to work on fundamentally! We will also be giving each shooter individual feedback throughout the clinic.

A T T A C K - C O N T R O L

We always see benefits student body wide in going over attack-control, specially with LE. While there are a lot of benefits to this drill, the biggest takeaway we typically see is the light bulb going off for folks that not every shot needs a still, stopped, stable dot. While that seems like common sense for some of us, shooting is still largely taught with a “slow is smooth, smooth is fast” mindset which hinders a lot of shooters early on in their journey.
•
On the LE side of things, it is rare for academies & PDs to teach shooting at speed. Which means most officers only know to shoot when they have a completely stopped dot followed by even more over confirmation on the second shot. By implementing attack-control, it is a good building block to get people to shoot at speed and to shoot what your vision tells you, which is much easier said than done.
•
Just like most drills though, we do believe you should be progressing enough in your journey where the training wheels should be taken off and you need to start stacking more on your plate to be a better shooter. Attack-control is NOT the end all be all to target transitions, understanding sight confirmation, shot calling, trigger break exits, shooting at speed, etc. Eventually you learn to carve your range days to your weaknesses and not to just a few standardized drills.

The & Jack Carbine is a well balanced platform that packed a lot of punch considering when it was released.
•
Lots of cool things on this rifle like the OG rail and unique aesthetics/markings that no other platforms had at the time. Looks great & shoots great, zero complaints here.

We are not far from the upcoming LEO Range Day next week! Last year was phenomenal and it’s only going to be better this year. We are excited to see you all and reconnect!

Huge thanks to for capturing a bite of explanation on structure.
•
When discussing grip, we like to cover the principles of grip, hand placement on the gun, pressures we put into the gun, and structure behind the gun. When it comes to structure, something as simple as keeping the elbows down and in allows the gun to return to zero easier, as it prevents your wrists from breaking each shot. Dont worry about keeping the gun flat, but pay attention to where it returns to. We have found that lots of LEO’s struggle with grip as most departments/academies emphasis trigger pull (associating it with good accuracy) over grip.

Much like last year, we will be covering the 3 Pillars in the 3.5 hours we have with you guys in each module. While our curriculum is rifle based this year, you guys will still certainly be feeling the pressure from us to do the fundamentals at speed!
