The photo on the left was taken about three months before I was given the gift of desperation.
The photo on the right is me today. I am in recovery and I am thriving.
The photo on the left carries exhaustion I could no longer hide.
The photo on the right reflects what recovery actually looks like. I found peace, clarity, and hope I did not know was possible.
Recovery did not magically fix my life overnight. It taught me how to live honestly, take responsibility, rebuild trust, and keep showing up one day at a time.
Yes, I look better on the outside. But the inner transformation is where the miracle happened.
Recovery gave me my life back. It gave me purpose. It gave me the ability to be present for the people I love and to help others do the same.
There is no shame in rebuilding. There is strength in it.
If I can do it, so can you.
Connection is the remedy to addiction.
