A heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through Kori Chiefdom following the reported murder of a nine-year-old child.

​According to official reports from Town Chief Moses Gbappie of Mosongo Village, the incident was discovered at approximately 01:10 hours on Tuesday, 22 September 2026. The chief reported that Junisa Brainard allegedly killed his own son, Mohamed Brainard, aged 9, following a domestic breakdown.

​Young Mohamed, who resided with his mother in Kulanda Town, had traveled to Mosongo Village to spend his school holidays. Tragically, his life was cut short just as he was preparing to begin the new academic year.

The suspect, Junisa Brainard, is currently in police custody at the Moyamba Police Station as law enforcement officers carry out further investigations into the matter.
