Every dog and cat deserve a chance to get adopted just like Giuseppe here. We know you love your pets and we could use your help this giving season. Help is DESPERATELY needed for the Clermont Animal CARE Humane Society. Clermont County, Ohio - Government has not renewed the contract for the Humane Society and Starting Jan. 1, the COUNTY WILL TAKE BACK OPERATIONS of its animal shelter after commissioners REJECTED THE BID TO RENEW THE CONTRACT. The animal welfare organization that has been managing the facility since 2018 and has devoted its service to a no kill operation with substantial improvements since taking over. PLEASE CONACT YOUR LOCAL COMMISIONERS @ https://bcc.clermontcountyohio.gov/ David Painter [email protected] Claire Corcoran: [email protected] Edwin H, Humphrey: [email protected] or call 513-732-7300. Let them know that the Humane Society was thriving under its current leadership and that unless the county can promise 100% no kill policy, they should reconsider the contract negotiations. This from CityBeat: "Starting in the new year, Clermont County will operate the shelter under Ohio Revised Code 955, a bare minimum which only requires them to keep, house and feed stray dogs for three days. Cats are not included and will not be housed/taken in at the shelter. Per the ORC (which is mildly concerning and worth a read), any untagged dog left after three days can be “donated to any nonprofit special agency that is engaged in the training of any type of assistance dogs,” sold for $3 to “any nonprofit Ohio institution or organization that is certified by the director of health as being engaged in teaching or research concerning the prevention and treatment of diseases of human beings or animals,” sold in general or, failing those options, “be humanely destroyed.” “The county has made clear they are only committed to what they are required by law. That is ORC 955 stray dogs,” says Clermont Animal CARE’s Colville. “This means that the county will not be providing services for owned pets that need to be rehomed or cats. At Clermont Animal CARE, we provide full-service animal sheltering. We have a robust cat program that in 2020 included a county-wide community cat spay/neuter program. We also have programming that helps people who have fallen on hard times keep their pets. All programming beyond stray dog pick up and housing for three days will go away when the county takes over.” https://www.citybeat.com/…/clermont-animal-care-humane-soci…. We thank you so much. Share and call your Clermont County Commissioner.

It was a GRAND Opening.

Thank you all who joined us for a very emotional evening as we celebrated our launch April 5th. Gnoman has been an ongoing endeavor since June of 2018 when Naomi Ritchey and I decided that there was a need for our technical skills as a Networking Engineer and a Sys Admin to be put to use within our small clan of small business owners who, “All needed a website.” Websites are easy to make but the content creation is not. We spent a LOT of our time crafting an image and a brand for these individuals. It became clear that there was a need to start at a more basic level so we created a group called Smart Ass’ists which met weekly to pound out processes, roadmaps for success, and inspiration to slay everyone's fears about being a small business owner - most of whom are women entrepreneurs. I quit my job from xsimplr IT with a blessing and an offer to assist us. Small businesses that band together are the backbone of success, thus, xsimplr IT became our first partner. Since then we’ve established more Partnerships. “Clients” sounded too much like a contractual agreement, when the reality is we cannot discuss social media without being social so we continue to meet, and greet, and eat, and grow our membership. I hope that someday soon we can cultivate a partnership with your business. Until then, catch us on Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. The membership is informal, free to join, no dues, and certainly not mandatory. If you’re interested in attending you can contact us at [email protected].
