Wind power in Germany is one of the leading alternative energy sources in the world (rightful 3rd place!). Until 2008, Germany ranked first in terms of the total capacity of wind farms. 2014 ended for the country with a total capacity of wind turbines of 39,165 MW. By the way, the active development of this sphere began after the Chernobyl tragedy: it was then that the government decided to look for alternative sources of electricity. And here is the result: in 2014, 8.6% of the electricity produced in Germany came from wind farms.
