I’ve been in a social media hybrination for a few months now and I’m not gonna lie… It was glorious.
I didn’t have social media until I started my digital marketing career, so going without it was refreshing for someone like me.
Not being on social media is my comfort zone.
But the flip side of that is, it is a free lead source, and you should never stop a using a free lead source.
It’s free, why quit? The time? Then energy? Writing posts? None of these are hard or terribly time consuming, in fact, they call be done from my phone, I don’t even need my laptop.
I can take it a step further and spend one day a month, write out all my posts and schedule them to be dispersed in a timely fashion from my CRM.
Then the only thing I have to do is reply to comments.
So why did I stop using a FREE lead source?
I don’t have a good answer for you.
I can’t blame it on writer’s block. I put out a ton of cool stuff over the past few months, and I never told you guys.
I was so busy I stopped making time to post on social media, and while that’s a good thing, I shouldn’t have stopped.
I meant to come back sooner, but social media is not my natural habitat so one week turned into one month and so on and so on.
Now I have to romance the algorithm all over again.
So keep this in mind, if you own a business, social media is a part of it…
If nothing else, write a few s**t posts just so the algorithm knows you still have eyes for it.
Not to mention most s**t posts are hilarous (if you do it right) and really help your engagement.
So just do it, the time you save by not doing it, doesnt’ compare to the time you spend redoing it when you stop.
