Recent operations by Indiana State Police targeting major drug pipelines in southern Indiana have led to dozens of arrests and the confiscation of numerous narcotics.

Scott County Indiana Sheriff's Office Deputies Stop Truck Carrying Alleged Stolen Motorcycles and Other Property…The result is the Arrest and Incarceration of the Driver, along with Search Warrants Executed in Floyd County
Scott County- On 6-3-2026, Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies received a report of a pickup truck possibly carrying a stolen motorcycle, traveling on Interstate 65 (I-65) in or near Scott County. After responding to I-65, deputies observed a pickup truck traveling north on the interstate that matched the description provided, successfully stopping the truck north of the Scottsburg interchange. After removing the driver from the truck, later identified as Ronald Dean Odle, 64, of Medora, Indiana, deputies verified the truck was hauling two motorcycles that were reported as stolen from Louisville, Kentucky, along with other possible stolen property contained within the passenger compartment. Odle was arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail. The truck, motorcycles, and other property were transported to the jail for processing, where Methamphetamine was also discovered by deputies. Odle was arrested for the following:
• Auto Theft (2 counts)
• Possession of Methamphetamine
• Wanted on a Warrant (Clark County, Indiana)
On 6-9-2026, Sheriff’s Deputies from Scott and Floyd County executed a search warrant on Atkins Road in Floyd K***s (Floyd County), based upon the initial recovery of the motorcycles and subsequent investigation that occurred. Scott County Detectives were able to connect the stolen motorcycles to a location in Floyd County, where after meeting with the Office of the Floyd County Prosecutor, a search warrant was requested and issued. Deputies located a stolen enclosed trailer that was connected to the stolen motorcycles recovered on 6-3-2026, and five (5) stolen cars that were parked around the trailer, all reported stolen from the City of Louisville. A second search warrant was applied for and issued, based upon what deputies discovered as a possible “chop shop”, where stolen vehicles are taken to dismantle or change in some way to fraudulently sale. The result of the second search warrant is pending currently.
Other charges may be added as this investigation continues. Sheriff Goodin advised the following… “Once again, a criminal thinks they are free to do what they do, victimizing others, and no one will do anything about it. We will do everything we can to stop them with good, aggressive policing...if you commit crime and come to Scott County, the result will likely be an extended stay in jail. No property recovered during this investigation originated in Scott County, which I am pleased about…all was stolen from out of state. It doesn’t matter to us...if you think you can travel across Scott County hauling stolen property, you better think again. This is another example of Scott County Deputies going the extra mile by aggressively and thoroughly investigating crime, no matter where it originates from”.

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

We regret to announce the line-of-duty death of Chief Harold Osborn of the Seelyville Fire Department in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Chief Osborn and members of his department responded to a medical emergency at approximately 8:00 p.m. Monday evening that required manually lifting a large patient.

A few hours later, his wife found him in cardiac arrest and immediately initiated CPR. Emergency assistance was called, and he was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased from an apparent heart attack.

He was 51 years old and had served with Seelyville Fire for 30 years. He also served as a reserve deputy with the Vigo County Sheriff's Office.

Chief Osborn is survived by his wife, Bobbi, six children, and eight grandchildren.

UPDATE: East County Road 600 South to close at U.S. 421 in Decatur County

DECATUR COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O'Mara Contractors, Inc. is scheduled to close both the east and west approaches of East County Road 600 South at U.S. 421 on or after Wednesday, June 10, to complete two pipe replacements just north of Napoleon.

East County Road 600 South is expected to reopen in late July, weather permitting. This work is part of the current project taking place on U.S. 421 north of Napoleon.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Construction to Replace KY 1838 (Corn Creek Road) Bridge Beginning June 15, in Trimble County
Crews to start off-roadway work June 8
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 5, 2026) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the upcoming closure of a section of KY 1838 (Corn Creek Road) in Trimble County for a bridge replacement project.
KY 1838 (Corn Creek Road) will be closed at mile point 2.18 at the bridge over Corn Creek, beginning Monday, June 15, and will remain closed through Saturday, August 1, 2026. The road closure is necessary for contract crews to complete substructure repairs and place a latex concrete deck overlay on the bridge over Corn Creek.
Depending on your destination along KY 1838, motorists may use KY 625 (Mount Pleasant Road) and KY 754 (Wise Landing Road / Barebone Road), from U.S. 421 to access KY 1838.
Jave LLC or Lexington, KY. is carrying out the work under a $208,825.73 project. Motorists should obey restrictions, follow the signed detour, and plan ahead when traveling.
