UNDERSTANDING SPOTIFY LISTENERS BEHAVIOR PT. 2✨

Spotify Analytics isn’t just about looking at numbers, it’s about understanding how your music is growing. I wanted to highlight Editorial Playlists and Algorithmic Playlists because these are two of the biggest sources that can drive discovery and increase your streams.

Editorial Playlists can introduce your music to brand-new listeners, while Algorithmic Playlists help Spotify continue recommending your music based on how people engage with it. Together, they can significantly expand your music to new audiences and help you better evaluate your marketing efforts.

The more you understand your analytics, the better decisions you’ll make.

🚨 MY FIRST EBOOK IS OFFICIALLY HERE 🚨

For years, I’ve watched artist spend countless hours trying to gain new fans, increase streams, and grow their audience. But there’s one question I don’t think enough artist ask:

Why do fans leave?

As someone with a background in psychology (BA in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University to be exact 💁🏾‍♀️) and years of experience working in music marketing, artist development, and audience growth, I’ve always been fascinated by what makes people stay connected to an artist and what causes them to lose interest.

That’s why I created Why Fans Leave: The Psychology Behind Loyal Fans & Long-Term Growth.

This eBook explores fan behavior, loyalty, engagement, retention, and the psychological factors that influence whether someone becomes a lifelong supporter or quietly moves on. Because the reality is that growing your audience isn’t just about finding new fans… it’s also about keeping the ones you already have.

This is the first of many resources I’ll be creating to help artist become more strategic, more professional, and better equipped to navigate this industry. If you’re an artist who wants to build a fanbase that actually sticks around, this book is for you.

Available now for just $10. DM to purchase your copy.

And if you’ve ever worked with me, attended one of my workshops, or followed my content over the years, thank you for supporting this new chapter. This is only the beginning ❤️

One of the most overlooked skills in the music industry is knowing how to introduce yourself.

Whether you’re sending a booking email, networking at an event, updating your EPK, speaking with media, or simply meeting someone who could help advance your career, you should always be prepared to answer one simple question:

“Tell me about yourself.” Many artist either say too much or not enough.

These 3 artist intro templates are designed to help you get straight to the point, communicate your value, and leave a professional first impression. While a full bio is important, having a short elevator pitch can help you confidently navigate conversations and opportunities when they happen.

Remember… Opportunities don’t always come with a warning… Be ready when they do.

📌 Disclaimer: These templates are intended to serve as a foundation and starting point. They are not meant to replace your creativity Please do not copied and pasted word-for-word. I encourage you to personalize them based on your unique story, accomplishments, goals, and current stage in your career. The most effective outreach, bios, and business materials are the ones that authentically represent who you are as an artist. Use these examples as a guide, then make them your own.

UNDERSTANDING SPOTIFY LISTENERS BEHAVIOR PT. 1✨

Most artists focus on streams and monthly listeners, but those numbers only tell part of the story. If you really want to understand your audience, you need to know where those streams are coming from. In this post, I am breaking down two Spotify Analytics that can tell you a lot about your audience. These metrics help you understand whether listeners are simply hearing your music or actively engaging with it.

The goal isn’t just to get streams. The goal is to build listeners who save your music, come back to it, and make it part of their daily routine. Understanding your analytics can help you make smarter decisions about your music, marketing, and growth strategy.

Most artists think no response means no opportunity… That’s not always true.

A lot of times, your email didn’t get answered because the person you are reaching out to is busy, they might’ve overlooked it, or it got lost in a crowded inbox.

The problem is… most artists don’t follow up or they follow up the wrong way. A good follow-up isn’t pushy. It’s a reminder. It shows you’re serious, professional, and still interested.

That’s why I put together these 3 follow-up emails. Each one is short, clear, and respectful making it easier for venues, promoters, and companies to respond without feeling pressured.

When you follow up the right way, you increase your chances of getting a response, being reconsidered, and actually getting booked. Sometimes the opportunity was already there… it just needed a second message.

Artists, are you following up or just waiting?

If your reels aren’t performing, it’s not random and it’s not just “the algorithm.”

Most creators are stuck because of these 4 things:

Your content is too broad. If Instagram can’t clearly tell who your content is for, it won’t know who to show it to.

You’re confusing the algorithm. Posting random topics or switching directions too often makes it harder for your content to be pushed.

You’re not posting enough. Instagram promotes creators it trusts and trust is built through consistency. This doesn’t mean you have to post everyday. Create a rhythm that works best for you.

And you’re trying to sell too soon. If your content feels like an ad, people scroll. People follow value, not pressure.

The good news is these are all fixable. When you narrow your focus, stay consistent, and lead with value, your content becomes easier for Instagram to distribute and easier for people to connect with.

That means more reach, engagement, and real audience growth. Fix these 4 things, and your reels won’t just get views… they’ll start working for you. Watch this and start making the shift!

One thing about music marketing: there’s rarely one “right” answer. Most of the advice you hear from industry professionals actually work because they’ve tested those strategies with the artist they work with.

In this clip she recommends artists release an EP to test the market. That approach can work really well for artists who already have experience, resources/budget, a team, and a clear direction.

For newer artists with little to no budget though, I often recommend starting with singles. It’s a lower-risk way to experiment with your sound, learn what your audience responds to, and build momentum over time without committing to a full project.

Marketing strategies aren’t one-size-fits-all. The key is choosing the strategy that fits where you are in your career.
Artist, what strategy are you using right now?
