Hey so I blinked and suddenly it’s been a month since I posted so LET’S CATCH UP!

Absolutely loving being a homeowner, lots of busy client work, navigating new challenges, finding new routines, getting my steps in, supporting causes, squeezing in time for friends, decorating, date nights, wigs, OH MY. Cramming everything from these last couple months is impossible and I have been *so* bad at making content for my own business but c’est la vie, right?

Sometimes just living life, doing the work, and being present feels more productive than feeding the content machine and I need to remind myself that that’s okay.

💙 Happy 4.14 Day! 💛

I'm coming up on 12 years of living in this city, and theres a reason I've planted my roots here. I've been to cities all around the country, but nothing feels like home more than Milwaukee. It's the place I've discovered the most about myself, it's the place that grew my confidence, it's the place I fell in love, and its the place that has supported my wildest dreams. Milwaukee has changed in many ways since 2014 when I first moved here, but the community has never wavered. Cheers to many more years, MKE. You are one of a kind!

It’s Monday, it’s a blizzard outside, I’m almost out of the weeds of a VERY busy month, and I close on my first house next week!! The anxiety has been anxiety-ing!!!! March has felt like the shortest and the longest month and if I’m being totally honest, my brain feels absolutely fried. I’m only one human so… valid right?!

But I’m also very proud of myself because a few years ago I would have let these little voices in my head that usually make me spiral absolutely consume me. Instead I took this month as a reminder to practice the tools I’ve learned throughout years of therapy. Because working on yourself is a constant practice!

✏️ I said no to a lot of inquiries for the next couple of months, and didn’t feel guilty. There was absolutely no benefit in pushing myself to the limit for the sake of any and every offer that came my way. And if it’s a project or a client that is meant to be, then it will still find its way to me! I’m entering another huge chapter of life with my husband as we close and move into our first home and I didn’t want my inability to say “no” to be the reason I’m missing valuable time to enjoy this exciting big change.

✏️ I haven’t *totally* ignored my own needs and have listened to my body. Sure, I maybe stayed up extra late working on something, but then I let myself sleep in. The productivity police aren’t going to come for me if I needed some sleep after a long night or took the morning to do some chores I was putting off. Every day doesn’t need to feel like a huge rush, like where are we rushing to girl!? Making sure my needs are met first is just as productive as it is necessary.

✏️ I spoken to myself with kindness. Like the “look yourself in the mirror and say it to your face out loud” kinda thing. The second I felt myself doubting myself I tried to take a breath and then say something positive instead. Because sometimes you just need to remember who the f*ck you are and that you can handle anything you put your mind to like you have your whole life.

To sum it all up, unclench your jaw, relax, and don’t forget to be present in your own life because no one is meant to be a machine no matter how hard you to try to be 💛

Back in the summer of 2024 I worked with Jordan & Todd of to help give a facelift to their rapidly growing brand. And lots has happened since! Not only has their following, partnerships, and success continued to expand, but so has their family with the welcoming of a baby girl last fall!

Revisiting this brand for this post made me proud of it all over again as I was a couple years ago, because I LOVE a hidden message in a logo. And this one has a connection that feels even more special now! In addition of the homage to the iconic Hoan bridge, the “M” in Milwaukee is actually formed by the letters J and T, symbolic of the two creators connecting to their city. Congratulations Jordan & Todd on your beautiful family and thank you for all you do highlighting local businesses in Milwaukee! I’m grateful to have created this for you!
