Library Diaries week 3 and we stayed close to home this time. Avon-Washington Township Public Library is literally 15-20 minutes from our front door and I had never given it the attention it deserved until last Tuesday.

Quick recap of what you will find there:

✦ A building that has been here since 1920 and is currently expanding (there is something very inspiring about a 100-year-old institution deciding it needs more room)
✦ A teen space called Club 512 with gaming computers, a pod chair, and a monthly calendar full of events that teenagers actually show up for
✦ The Huron Heritage Room, which preserves the history of Washington Township and is worth the detour alone
✦ Warm wood fiction stacks that feel like a cathedral
✦ An elevator where every button is labeled by destination, not floor number

I grabbed The Speed of Trust by Stephen M.R. Covey off a display shelf and have already texted three people quotes from it. That is my personal review system and it has never failed me.

Full post is on the blog today. Drop your favorite Indy-area library in the comments. We have a whole summer and a running list.

Library Diaries Week 2 is here, and we took it to Whitestown.

The Hussey-Mayfield Public Library - Whitestown Branch is one of those places that makes you feel like a kid again. Natural light everywhere, comfortable seating, a teen area with garage doors that roll up into the main hall, a sensory-friendly space, and trails and outdoor reading spots just outside the door. Cohen and I could have stayed all day.

Every Tuesday this summer we are finding a new library to explore together. Follow along as we work our way across the Indianapolis area one stop at a time.

Summer is the only time this gets to happen.

During the school year, we are running. Alarm clocks and packed lunches and homework and the particular exhaustion of a Tuesday in March when everyone is tired and no one will admit it. There is no slow. There is no wandering. There is just the next thing and then the next thing after that.

But summer? Summer is when Cohen and I go to the library together. Just us. No agenda. No timer. We walk in, we split off, we find our corners, and we come back to each other with whatever pulled us in. It is one of my favorite things we do. And it only gets to happen now, in these weeks, before the fall schedule swallows us again.

I am a creative and a marketer by trade. I run BS Marketing + Media Co.; I spend my days in the work of storytelling, content strategy, brand voice, and helping small businesses and organizations show up online in a way that actually reflects who they are. It is work I genuinely love.

And I will tell you something I believe all the way down: the library is where my creativity gets fed.

Not a podcast. Not a course. Not a conference. A library. Free. Quiet. Full of people who sat down and chose their words carefully because the words mattered to them. When I read, I become a better writer. When I become a better writer, I become a better marketer. When I become a better marketer, I serve my clients better. It all connects. It has always all connected.

Summer library visits are not a break from the work. They are fuel for it.

I am launching The Library Diaries today, a weekly summer blog series where I take you with me every week to a different library. I will tell you about the building, the neighborhood around it, the spaces inside worth knowing, the book I picked up, and the quote that followed me home. And I will keep connecting the dots between what reading gives us as mothers and what storytelling gives us as creatives, because those dots have always been the same dot for me.

Week 01 is live. Carmel Clay Public Library in Carmel, Indiana. A Java House coffee shop inside the building that opens before the library does. A teenager who still shows up willingly. And Joan Didion reminding me why words are everything.

And tell me: what is the one book that made you want to create something? I am serious. Drop it below. I want to build a list.

Discover why one Indiana mom makes the library a weekly ritual and how raising kids in libraries shaped everything. Week 01 of The Library Diaries features Carmel Clay Public Library in Carmel, Indiana, with book recommendations, favorite spaces, and a heartfelt look at the cost of nothing and the v

Love shows up in the quiet details.

The shoes waiting by the aisle.
The rings that say forever.
The bouquet held close before the walk.
The small, beautiful moments that tell the whole story.

Weddings are not just about the big “I do.” They are about the emotion, the anticipation, the people, the texture, and the love woven into every single frame.

Now booking wedding photography in the Indianapolis area. VERY limited dates available.

Some things don't change no matter how busy life gets.

I raised both of my kids in libraries. Not just as a place to grab books, but as a place to slow down, get curious, and remember that the best thing in life is still the words from other brilliant minds.

This summer, as I step fully into running BS Marketing + Media Co. full time, I made myself a promise: Tuesdays are for the library. Every Tuesday until school starts back, my kids and I are working our way through libraries across Indianapolis and the surrounding area.

New buildings, old shelves, board game sections, classical CDs, moss walls, cold brew, and whatever else we stumble into. It is one of the best decisions I have made.

Building a business is loud. Libraries are quiet. Turns out, I need both. If you want to join us on a Tuesday, send me an email. I would love the company.

Stay tuned, NEXT WEEK - Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library - Whitestown Branch

Have you been wondering what the difference is?

Your personal social media builds trust. It gives people a reason to connect with the person behind the work.

Your business social media builds credibility. It gives people a clear place to understand what you do, see your work, and take the next step.

When the two work together, your audience gets the full picture: who you are, what you do, why it matters, and why they should trust you.

And no, this does not mean you have to show up online in a way that feels fake, forced, or overly polished. It means you need a strategy that helps you show up clearly and consistently.

That is exactly why I created my free 30-minute Social Pulse Check.

No fluff. No pressure. Just a quick look at where your social media is now, what is working, what is missing, and what your next best move should be.

If your brand has been sitting quietly online, this is your sign to start showing up with purpose.

There are some days behind the camera that just feel extra special.

I had the sweetest time capturing The Children's Ballet Spring Performance inside the beautiful Hendricks Live! in Plainfield, and let me just say, this venue is stunning. The lighting, the atmosphere, the stage, the energy; it all made for such a beautiful backdrop for these dancers and their big moment.

A huge thank you to The Green Room Cafe for being such a peaceful break from capturing the ballet. Three days of shooting, the beverages never faltered.

Also, personal recommendation: order the lavender latte with almond milk… and make it a quad. Trust me.

Beautiful performances, beautiful space, beautiful coffee. A photographer’s dream kind of day.
