Don't Quit. They Didn't.

Happy Juneteenth. Today we honor freedom that took generations to arrive, and the people who never gave up waiting for it.

That same spirit drives everything worth building: don't quit.

Enjoy the lakefront drone shots.

What if the most powerful AI tool for businesses disappeared before you even had a chance to try it?

That's exactly what happened recently.

Anthropic released Claude Fable 5, a model many described as less of a chatbot and more like a digital analyst that could tackle complex projects, synthesize information, and work through problems with minimal guidance.

Then, just 72 hours later, it was gone.

Whether it returns or not, here's the lesson for business leaders:

• Don't build your strategy around a single AI tool. Build adaptable workflows.
• The real advantage isn't access to the newest model; it's learning how to apply AI to your business today.
• The companies experimenting now will be miles ahead when the next breakthrough arrives.

Technology will keep changing. The winners won't be the ones chasing every shiny object.

I've been musing on goal-setting this morning...

Most people pick a goal-setting framework and never question it.

Two worth knowing the difference between:
SMART goals lock you into a clear target. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound. They're built for precision.

OKRs work differently. You pair an ambitious objective with key results you can adjust as you go. They're built for direction with flexibility.

Whichever you choose, write them down. In Gail Matthews' Dominican University study, more than 70 percent of participants who wrote their goals and sent weekly progress updates to a friend reported real success, compared to 35 percent who kept their goals to themselves. Writing is key and I've been doing that this year and reviewing them 3X a day.

Here's what makes OKRs worth a second look right now: they're built to flex.

As we head into Q3, it's the perfect time to revisit, revamp, and reinvigorate (like how I did that?) your 2026 goals while there's still runway to act on them.

What framework is your team running this year? Give it up in the comments.

You have permission to take a short handpan break...

I did.

If you watched this video to the end you'll see my handpan that was filmed at the Royal Sonesta in San Juan.

No clapping plane, no Barack Obama statue, no slot machines in the bus station. Just a few minutes of calm to push that catchy little AI Suno tune out of your head.

Tour the Lizard Lair with me as I break from today's monotony. Don't we all need a break here and there?

Real instrument, real San Juan, real human hands.

Enjoy the break.

Now I'm back to work.

Today, June 1st, marks the meteorological first day of summer.

So it feels like the perfect day to celebrate with the summer version of our drone experience at Holy Hill.

While working on an extensive project, we had the opportunity to capture Holy Hill across all four seasons; each one bringing a completely different look, mood, and story to this iconic Wisconsin landmark.

Summer brings the warmth, the greens, the light, and that sense of life in full bloom.

There is something powerful about seeing the same place through different seasons. It reminds me that the story is always changing, even when the place remains the same.

Excited to share this summer view from above.

John Maxwell said success is "knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit others."

This clip is from the heart of Gibraltar, with a true world traveler who plays the p**a, a traditional Chinese plucked lute. We started playing. People stopped walking. A small crowd gathered around two strangers from opposite sides of the world, finding common ground in sound.

That's the part I keep coming back to. The seeds we plant don't always look like seeds. Sometimes they look like a few minutes of music in a public square, shared with people whose names we'll never know.

Keep dreaming. Keep showing up. Keep making the most of what's already in your hands.

Over the past several years, we’ve had the opportunity to travel across Wisconsin capturing stories inside schools, districts, technical colleges, and education programs.

And one thing is clear: education is changing.

Students are not just sitting in classrooms. They’re learning in labs, building real-world skills, connecting with employers, exploring career pathways, and discovering what their future could look like before they even graduate.

That is where video becomes powerful.

A good story does more than show a building or a program. It captures the energy, the people, the purpose, and the heart behind what is happening. It helps parents, students, employers, and communities see the bigger picture.

It has been exciting to help tell these stories across Wisconsin and see firsthand how education is adapting to this new day and age.

It is an exciting time to be in business, especially when the work allows us to shine a light on people and programs making a real difference.

Grateful for the opportunity to keep telling stories that matter.

Zig Ziglar called success "the maximization of the abilities that God gave you."

Mine are a handpan, a love for travel, and a stubborn belief we're meant to find each other through whatever language we have.

This clip is from Tangier, where a local family took me in and opened their world to me. I played with a world guitarist and a professional Moroccan singer who asked that evening if she could sing with me.

We met as strangers.

We left as friends.

Gibraltar next week.

Whatever you've been given, use it. That's the whole assignment. We can never stop dreaming, and we can never stop making the most of what's already in our hands.

I had one of those little perspective-check moments today.

I was at a stoplight and glanced over at my weekly goal tracker. Seeing the entire year laid out in weeks really hit me. When you look at the weeks that are already behind you, and then see what’s actually left, it makes you realize there may not be as much “later” in the year as we think.

Time flies.

My son leaves for Air Force boot camp next month, which makes that even more real for me. Seasons move fast. Goals matter. Family matters. Focus matters.

Just a friendly reminder to stay locked in on what really matters this year.
