Our Story
Economic development is a strategic and collaborative process that creates an environment that supports new investment aimed at producing jobs that pay a livable wage.
The Minden Department of Economic Development assists would-be entrepreneurs to start their own businesses, helps existing businesses to expand, and encourages new investment opportunities to relocate to Minden, Louisiana. The department is also involved in ensuring that the local labor force is ready and prepared to fulfill skill requirements of new and existing industry.
The department works in collaboration with the Industrial Development Board of the City of Minden (involved primarily with manufacturers) and the Consortium of Minden/Webster Parish, Inc. (engaging retail/commercial enterprise). Both organizations are important partners, providing economic development incentives to help retain, expand, and relocate businesses.
