COMMUNITY WALKS FOR SU***DE AWARENESS
Community members gathered this morning for a Su***de Awareness Walk hosted by UT Health Senior Life Solutions.
Participants walked for many different reasons — some in memory of a loved one lost to su***de, others in support of a friend or family member, and some who have overcome suicidal thoughts themselves.
September is National Su***de Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, remembering those lost and reminding others that support is available.
Program Therapist Wylie Martin said organizers hope to make the walk an annual event each September.
Throughout the month, a special memorial tree is also on display honoring those who have lost their lives to su***de, with their names placed on the tree in remembrance.
Today’s walk brought the community together with a shared message of remembrance, support and hope.
