Eva Cole reached up and touched her husband’s name, now inscribed on the Cemetery of the Holy Rood’s granite 9/11 memorial. Cole’s husband was a Nassau County police officer who died nearly 15 years ago from brain cancer after site exposure from being on Ground Zero after the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the cemetery’s CEO Richard Bie said.
