This is my last FunnyFriday post, since I have officially retired at the end of 2022. Consider this one a parting message for how to live life.

I hope you've enjoyed these, as I've had fun finding them. Remember: Life is short, live it well!

It’s time to say goodbye!

For the past 32 years, I’ve worked with dozens of school districts and education related organizations on a wide range of communication needs and issues. When I started it was mostly parent newsletters (sent home in backpacks), school choice guides and other print materials. It quickly grew into more strategic support, with a wonderful period of customer service and marketing workshops, logo / brand development and communications plans. I was honored to do numerous communications audits, crisis communications and more referendums than I can count.

The people and relationships I’ve developed over the years have meant more to me than I can ever express. MinnSPRA, NSPRA, MAGC and PRSA have been my go-to professional organizations for support, learning and camaraderie. I’ve laughed, cried, agonized, brainstormed and written a WHOLE lot. My career has been a true blessing to me and given me so much.

While I’m leaving the world of school PR, I’ll always be available for a friendly chat about life (bonus points if cocktails are involved). Thank you to everyone I’ve had the pleasure and honor to work with. My email ([email protected]) will remain the same, but now stands for Barb Nicol Proudly Retired. On to the next chapter!

I am blessed with incredible friends and colleagues who helped me celebrate my soon-retirement last night at a great party. Special thanks to +Jake Sturgis and his Captivate Media team for making it happen. At the end of December my next chapter will begin!
