A custom builder told me they don’t schedule a walkthrough until it’s clear the fit is right. Who referred you, what’s the budget, is a designer involved, does it match what they build. If it doesn’t line up, they say so before ever driving out. Most companies show up first and find out later. That’s the difference between filtering and hoping.

I asked a company if most of their roofing inquiries turn into jobs or if people fall off after the estimate. The bot didn’t answer the question. It just fired the same script it sends everyone: send your project type, address, and timeline.

That’s not a system. That’s a wall. Whoever built this thinks it solved the intake problem. It actually put something colder than silence in front of the exact moment a customer decides whether to trust the company.

A real system reads what someone says and responds like it matters. This one doesn’t read at all.

Most companies treat an ad like a bet. Pick one, run it, hope.

We treat it like a test. Four versions of the same ad, same audience, same budget, running at once. Two never had a chance and got cut fast. One carried 69 of the 73 leads that ad set produced.

You don’t know which version wins before you run it. You just make sure you’re never betting on just one.
