Recently I delivered this portrait which was absolutely delightful to create. Instead of the usual black mat and dark frame, the homeowner requested a gold tone. Finding three from which to choose, she decided on this, with a cream mat. And thankfully the presentation was well received!

Beginning work on a couple SURPRISE home portraits for Christmas presents!! One year I gave my parents a series of six, their childhood homes and the few they’ve shared. Over the years I’ve created three or four similar groupings for others. Multiple prints may be requested for family members to receive the same portrait. This gorgeous log home is tucked away in a secluded spot that after 15 years of living nearby, I didn’t know the neighborhood existed!! The stonework was a renovation on a lovely home to begin with, the dream of homeowners who built it 18 years ago. The rear of the property is just as impressive, I told her I’d create a portrait of her backyard, too!!

What an honor it is to do this work. On the left, a teacher-friend of mine from Nolensville Elementary days (a past-life!) wanted to gift a portrait to her parents who had raised their family in this home. The two on the right were gifts from a mother to her son and daughter of their first homes. This artwork is more than a rendering of a house, it is love and memories and deep sentiment. A keepsake!❤️
