One thing I will never stop talking about is the importance of supporting local businesses. đź’›

These are the people who sponsor our kids' teams, donate to community events, show up for fundraisers, and help make our small towns feel like home.

I'll admit, I got a later start on my plants this year than usual, but a quick stop at Hillside Gift & Garden Center had me covered. Not only did I find exactly what I needed, but I got to support a local business owner who pours her heart into what she does.

With the road construction happening around Lonsdale and several nearby roads closed, traffic has been slower than normal. To help move inventory before the season ends, she's marked everything down.

Last week I had the opportunity to sit down with Nick Huber, an insurance agent right here in New Prague, and wow… such a great conversation. Not only does he really know his stuff, but he shared some lesser-known options that honestly opened my eyes a bit.

If you’re a small business owner, feel behind on retirement planning, or you’re thinking about building long-term wealth for your kids and grandkids, he’s definitely someone worth talking to. These are the kinds of conversations more people need to be having — not from a place of fear, but from a place of creating more freedom, security, and peace of mind for the future.

I love building connections and partnerships with businesses that truly care about serving people well, and Nick is absolutely one of those people.

I’ve been working with a client recently on her clarity report, and it’s one of those projects that just reminds me why we start here every single time.

Because before this, she had a general idea of who she wanted to work with… but it wasn’t fully defined.
And now?

Everything is clearer.
Her messaging makes more sense.
Her content has direction.

And building out emails for her is going to feel so much easier because we’re not guessing anymore about how to connect.

You can spend YEARS creating content… and still feel like your marketing isn’t actually working.

Honestly, what I see happen a lot is business owners jump straight into posting before they have real clarity around their messaging, audience, and strategy. Then everything starts to feel scattered. Content becomes harder to create, consistency disappears, and marketing turns into one more exhausting thing on the to-do list.

If you’re a travel advisor, I want you to hear this a little differently — because your needs for support are a little more unique than some other industries.

You’ve already built something really thoughtful for your clients. The experience you give them is high-touch, detailed, and honestly… really impressive.

But behind the scenes, it often still feels like you’re the one holding everything together.
The timelines, the emails, the follow-ups — all of it lives in your head, or scattered across a few different places.

And it’s not because you’re disorganized.

I LOVE Marie Forleo, and I was listening to one of her podcasts the other day, and honestly…it was exactly the message I needed to hear in that moment.

If you have a goal, you are trying to grow your business, or you are working toward something bigger, you really can’t wait until you feel “ready” to start. The truth is, most of us never fully feel ready.

This sounds so simple when you hear it out loud, but actually doing it is a completely different story. It is scary to step into something when there’s a chance it might not work out the way you hoped. What I see happen a lot is people wait for confidence to magically show up before they take action, when usually confidence comes after you start moving.

Honestly, I still deal with this ALL THE TIME. Even after building multiple successful businesses, that fear never fully goes away. You just learn how to move through it faster.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that I use the “fake it until you make it” mentality a lot…although truthfully, I don’t even think it’s really faking. Most of the people around you have no idea you’re questioning yourself internally, and most of the time, you actually know way more than you think you do.

That’s where growth usually happens. Not when you feel perfectly prepared, but when you decide to take the next step anyway.
