Sooooo heres the deal..

An Enhanced Risk of severe weather is in place Wednesday across northern Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

Storms are expected to develop late Wednesday afternoon and continue into the evening and overnight hours.

The main threats will be tornadoes, especially across Mississippi into Alabama, along with damaging winds and some hail. Conditions are favorable for storms to organize quickly due to strong winds aloft and a very moist, unstable atmosphere.

A few storms could develop earlier in the day, but the more significant severe weather threat will ramp up after roughly 4 PM and continue through the night.

This is a setup that needs to be taken seriously. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings, especially overnight when storms may be ongoing.

Torvex will be monitoring closely and providing updates as we get closer.

RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR CENTRAL ALABAMA

We are currently under a Red Flag Warning. This means conditions are favorable for fires to start easily and spread rapidly.

Here’s why today is dangerous:
• Wind gusts of 20–30 MPH
• Very low humidity (19–25%)
• Dry grass and vegetation across the area

It only takes one spark to start a fire today. With these conditions, fires can spread quickly and become difficult to control in a short amount of time.

Avoid the following:
• Burning outdoors
• Throwing ci******es on the ground
• Parking vehicles on dry grass
• Using equipment that creates sparks

If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately.
