No gigs for me this week as it's time to welcome 250 Kiwanians from across Oklahoma and Texas to the 106th District Convention, being held at Tahlequah's Chota Conference Center. They will be on the river, in our restaurants, and shopping our shops, so be ready!
Finally, after a year and a half of preparation, the time is nigh. It's also the 100th Anniversary of our own Kiwanis Club of Tahlequah, so this just adds to the year long celebration. Most activities are for internal purposes, but we do have a Saturday luncheon featuring keynote speaker Captain Charlie Plumb. Buffet lunch and program is only $35, and while it's pretty late in the game, I'm happy to inquire about getting you a seat to the luncheon.
If you are looking for good music this week I'd recommend Scary Larry Huitt open mic tonight at Kroner, Mark Sweeney this Friday at The Branch, and Oklahoma Wildlife at Emery’s Grill on Sunday.

Today begins the next leg of the journey, a pivot to contract work as a media consultant with Payne Radio Group. This will afford me the opportunity to focus on familial, entrepreneurial and communal endeavors. I'm excited for this next step, and all the changes ahead.
As you may have noticed, promoting the arts, specifically music, is a greater part of the plan moving forward. I've been fortunate to form partnerships with ownership at Emery’s Grill and Arrowhead Resort, the chance to return to The Branch event management, and ongoing programming at Paradox Beer Company and The Club at Indian Springs. In addition to increased activity with my own ensembles, I've assumed booking agent responsibilities for a few artists in select markets, including Carter Sampson, Sage & Aera, and Red Dirt Rangers to name a few. All of this leads towards the slow buildup of Spring Creek Entertainment Group, a homegrown artist and event services agency. WPPR, Wicked Pickle Public Relations, is still afloat, ready to assist artists, events, agencies and businesses with well crafted campaigns and content management.
There is so much more to this story, to this journey. I will share more in due time, but in the meantime, it's time to organize, divide and Conquer.
And make a little noise at home and abroad.
