Coastal Press has proudly supported Downtown Morehead City, Inc. since the very beginning. Our very own Steve Brock even had the honor of serving on the Board in the early years.

From promoting Coastal Press during our move to recognizing Coastal Press as a woman-owned business, Downtown Morehead City has always lifted up the businesses that make our downtown special. And we’re grateful to be part of a community that truly supports local.

Today they rolled out a "Passport Program" to win tickets to their sold-out-in-minutes Chowder & Cheer event in December. This is a fun way to support your local businesses downtown.

Our team has been busy bees this week! We wrapped up things today with our sign crew installing new entrance graphics at Down East Middle School and Smyrna Elementary. Meanwhile, our print team put the finishing touches on the Core Sound Gallery of Trees event booklet for tonight’s opening. Coastal Press is honored to decorate and sponsor the “Chris-mas” Tree, created in memory of Chris Brock and tribute to the Down East Fire & EMS departments.

CONGRATULATIONS to our girl Addison Brock as she graduates today from Appalachian State University Summa Cum Laude with an honors degree in Advertising and a minor in Photography.

We are tremendously proud of Addison and her accomplishments and excited for her future with our team!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Steve A. Brock. Steve passed peacefully early this morning after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve was a devoted father to his sons, Chris and Jon, a proud grandfather to Andrew and Addison, a father-in-law who came to mean so much more to Dawn, a supportive brother to his sister Patti, and an amazing husband to his beautiful wife, Diane — their love was truly special.

Steve was not only the heart of our family, but also a cornerstone of Coastal Press, where he worked with passion and dedication for many years. His wisdom, humor, and fierce love will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Though we are heartbroken, we find comfort knowing he is reunited with his son, Chris. Their bond was unbreakable, and now they are together again. All our love, the Brock Family ❤

Today was a GREAT DAY! The weather was beautiful as friends came together for the Gregory Smith Benefit! THANK YOU to everyone who donated, donated prizes and food, helped, bought raffle tickets and BBQ tickets! We are blessed to live in such an AMAZING community! ❤️
