Sometimes, as a heavy construction company, you question whether something is worth posting on the company page. That was certainly not the case for our customer Merlo, Inc, which just relocated a temporary bridge and reopened it to traffic in 16 working hours.
Merlo pulled off a tandem lift of the 210,000-pound 38-foot-wide-by-100-foot-long Acrow bridge with a 550-ton crane on each side. The bridge was then moved downstream to its new home. From the planning to the actual pick, the team had to prepare for every contingency. Not to mention, lots of associated roadwork was done before opening the road to traffic.
Congrats to all involved. Incredible feats like this deserve to be shared.
