Back in the late 80’s, Sam Bass made concept art of a Dale Earnhardt Goodwrench paint scheme that was never used. For 2026, JR Motorsports used the paint scheme for their Carolina Carports cars. The original artwork hangs at JRM in Dale Jr.’s Dirty Mo Media room. After seeing the paint scheme on track in person, as well as seeing the original artwork, I decided to try to make the 2026 car in the same style as Sam Bass’ original concept art.

Here is Justin Allgaier’s 2026 Carolina Carports #7 Chevrolet.

The drawing was made using pencil, pens, gel pens, sharpies, and prismacolor markers and colored pencils. It took a while to add all of he black border around the edge, but turned out looking decent in person! The black and red are sharpie, and the silver trim is pinstriping tape.

This was one I’ve wanted to make since the schemes were unveiled, and I’m happy with how it turned out!

Had the chance a while back to design a wrap for Eli Sims from Florence, Alabama. This is one of my first designs for a dirt car, ad one of the first to ever have the SkyFox logo on the car!

Excited to see some action shots of this car on track, and hope Eli does great in it!

This weekend at Talladega, Daniel Dye will be behind the wheel of the Live Fast Motorsports 78 for the NASCAR Cup Series race. I got the opportunity to design this paint scheme a while back for the ARCA and NASCAR O’Reilly Series cars, and now it will be on track in the Cup Series!

Just finished up this drawing of Ryan Newman's 2004 #12 Team Penske Alltel Dodge. This was hand drawn using pencil, prismacolor colored pencils and markers, and sharpies.

A recreation of Dale Earnhardt's wild looking GM Goodwrench "Peter Max" paint scheme that raced The Winston in 2000. I put the paint scheme on one of the 2026 Chevrolets in iRacing, moving the numbers and sponsors to see what it would look like with the modern-day car/rules. This was one of the weirdest paint scheme recreations I have ever done!
