Right now Title IX requires equitable opportunities
for men and women in college athletics. While
individual abilities vary widely and some women
can compete closely with men in certain contexts,
the general biological differences between males
and females create a competitive disparity in many
sports that puts women at a disadvantage when
competing directly against men or trans women
who have undergone male puberty. Thus,
maintaining separate categories for male and
female athletes helps to ensure fair and equitable
competition. And secures a woman’s chance for
these scholarships. And according to statistics, 25%
of the women in NYS get scholarships to play sports.
We need to support women by ensuring they have
a fair and level playing field. And that will not
happen if this ERA Proposition is passed. So if you
have a daughter or you yourself rely on a sports
scholarship then you must vote no
