The Malmedy Massacre Memorial Dedication will be held today, June 14, beginning with memorial service held at the Mount Joy Church of God. Rotarian David Christian will be the master of ceremonies, and the ceremony will feature a keynote speaker, remarks by Eagle Scout Todjr Dohl, special music and a prayer.

Following the memorial service, the color guard from Scout Troop 39, sponsored by the Mount Joy Rotary, will lead participants in a walking procession from the church to Mount Joy War Memorial Park for the outdoor memorial dedication ceremony.

Mount Joy has a lot of banners that are fading or damaged and need to be replaced. Wouldn't it be nice to replace these banners before July 4th, the 250th anniversary of the United States? Unfortunately, we do not have contact information for some of the people that sponsored these banners. If you know the family of one of these Hometown Heros and the banners are faded, can you let that family know that the banner can be replaced? Maybe a banner near your home or business is faded and damaged. Anyone can donate money toward replacing a banner. Help us by sharing this post.

📢 Important Announcement Regarding The Mount Joy Memorial Day Parade📢

We just received word from the planning committee that tomorrow's parade has been CANCELLED! It was a decision that did not come easy to them, but due to the weather forecast, they felt it was best to cancel the parade.

For the past two years, The Fresh Brews of Mount Joy brought our community together for a day of fun, friendship, and support for local businesses, but what many people may not realize is just how much this event gives back to Mount Joy. 🍻❤️

Fresh Brews has become the largest fundraising event to date in Mount Joy, and because of the incredible support from attendees, sponsors, breweries, volunteers, and our community, we’ve been able to reinvest thousands of dollars back into causes that directly benefit our town.

One of our amazing event partners is the Donegal Athletic Club (DAC), whose volunteers help make this event possible each year. In return, a portion of the proceeds from Fresh Brews is donated back to support their organization. Last year, after all event expenses were paid, we proudly donated $4,000 to DAC. Despite rainy weather impacting attendance this year, we were still thrilled to donate $3,000 to continue supporting local student athletes and programs. 👏

Fresh Brews has also allowed us to create a new annual $2,500 scholarship for a Donegal High School senior. Last evening, we had the honor of presenting this scholarship for the very first time at the Donegal Awards Banquet to this year’s recipient, Kathryn Gehman. 🎓

In addition, we were able to donate $500 to American Legion Post 185 to help purchase new flags that will proudly line Main Street. 🇺🇸

The impact doesn’t stop there. Funds from Fresh Brews also help Voyage Mount Joy continue promoting our town, incredible small businesses and supporting community events like National Night Out and many other initiatives throughout the year.

We understand that not everyone agrees with events of this nature, but we hope posts like this help show the positive impact Fresh Brews has had on our community. At its core, this event is about bringing people together and creating opportunities to give back to Mount Joy in meaningful ways.
