A little trivia!

The elevator in this Atlanta hotel was used in two movies: Flight and Hunger Games.

Name the hotel!

It's also my go-to for business travelers to the area. World class service, great accommodations, and covered walkway/tunnel so you don't have to brave the elements to grab dinner - but why would you when they have room service and great restaurants on property🤷🏾‍♀️

Took advantage of complimentary headshots at the ICIC Annual Conference.

When I was a hotel asset manager, I attended the Star Conference. It's a huge industry specific conference. Those are great, but I also like to attend conferences that aren't industry specific, ones that are centered on a cause or concept.

For example, back in 2022 I attended Black Equity Con. The nuggets I got from that one changed my life. I started two community organizations and began looking at partial ownership and collaboration differently.

What conferences are you planning to attend over the remainder of this year? Do you ever repeat conferences?

I ate ice cream in the jungle, in the rain.

My clients are amazing women (mostly, a few fellas sprinkled in the mix) who are putting amazing work into this world. They shoulder so many things and keep all the plates spinning...

And they are exhausted.

Even exhausted, it's hard for them to rest. To pause. To breathe.

I remember the moment I took this photo. It was at a jungle resort in Mexico.Everyone was running in from the rain. Taking cover. Going inside.

Not me. I sat at an umbrella covered table enjoying my ice cream and watching the rain. Pause.

Taking a pause can be as simple as that. Taking the moment. Inserting a little joy, a little awe (a little deliciousness).

You deserve rest. You deserve joy. You deserve a moment to breathe and enjoy this life you are creating.

What's your favorite rainy day non-activity?

"When does a champion become great?"

Listening to Brian Tracy's The 12-Week Year and that question made me think about my running days.

In my life, I've completed seven half-marathons, a Tough Mudder, a number of 15Ks, 10Ks, 5Ks, and obstacle course races. The medals were great, but crossing the finish lines isn't when I won.

I stepped into greatness every time I put on my shoes before the sun rose. Every time I stumbled up the stairs after a training session. Greatness was in my choice to start drinking water at 8pm while everyone else kept drinking cocktails.

Sometimes in business and work we focus so much on the final result, that we miss all the ways we can be great in the pursuit of our goals and objectives.

Today, greatness looks like studying for a certification exam while my friends are at brunch. Or foregoing happy hour to finish up a landing page.

What's greatness look like for you?

Essence wrapped another festival in New Orleans earlier this month, and the content coming out of it says something we love to see: Black women are traveling with intention, choosing luxury, and refusing to shrink the experience.

We are all for it. And we would add one thing: that same standard belongs on your business trips too.

Somewhere along the way, business travel became shorthand for enduring it. The 5am flight. The middle seat. The hotel you booked because it was close, not because it was good. The idea that leisure travel is where you get treated well, and business travel is where you just get through it.

The women we work with have rewritten that. Their work travel is booked with the same care as any luxury trip (the right hotel, the lounge, the upgrade, a schedule that respects their energy) because when you travel 40 days a year for your business, that is not indulgence. It is sustainability.

You don't have to choose between traveling well and traveling for work. And you don't have to manage it yourself to get there.

If you want your business travel to feel as considered as the trips you actually look forward to, let's talk.

GBTA reported that global business travel confidence has dropped sharply in 2026. Geopolitical instability. Rising costs. On-time performance at its worst in over a decade.

For most people, that is an industry headline. For a consultant billing at $300 to $500 an hour, it is a different math problem.

A delayed connection isn't just a delay. It is a keynote you might miss, a client dinner that can't start without you, a morning that runs on adrenaline instead of intention. And when the airline app keeps spinning and the hold queue is 45 minutes, you have become the project manager of your own flight crisis.

The Black women consultants and speakers we work with, many traveling 40 and 50 days a year, did not build their practices to spend that energy on logistics.

What we do is absorb it. When something goes sideways, you reach us (even at 11pm) and you are talking to someone who already knows you and is already working the alternatives. We keep an eye on things behind the scenes, so sometimes we are on it before you even call. You don't sit on hold. You don't manage callbacks. We navigate it from our end.

We built this for the professional who treats her time the way it deserves to be treated.

If you are tired of being your own travel department, our Five Protocols guide, Beyond Chaos, is a good place to start.

CLEAR+ recently raised its price to $219. Marriott Bonvoy got named the top hotel program for 2026. And somewhere in the time it took to read that, an airline probably adjusted its award chart.

Tracking points was never the hard part. Apps like AwardWallet and TripIt keep every balance in one place; knowing what you hold has been a solved problem for years.

The hard part is that airlines keep moving the goalposts. Award prices creep up. Redemption sweet spots quietly disappear. The status you earned last year buys less this year. Playing that game well takes constant attention, and it still doesn't always pay off.

So we think about points differently. We help clients accumulate and spend strategically, and more often than not that means favoring flexible credit card points and cashback over chasing airline tiers that reset the rules whenever it suits them. Value you can actually use, on your terms.

We are not alone in this. NerdWallet, Bankrate, and The Points Guy all point the same way: transferable credit card points carry a flexibility premium over airline miles, precisely because dynamic pricing and constant devaluations keep eroding what those miles are worth.

Points should work for your travel, not the other way around.

If you want a travel partner who will be straight with you about where the real value is, let's talk.
