Hi! I’m Laysa, the face behind Style by Laysa. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.
I originally started this account to share insights from the intersection of my passions: fashion, trend forecasting, psychology, branding, and identity. What began as a creative outlet has since grown into a full-service color analysis studio here in Charleston, with plans one day to expand into various personal style services.
Like many women, I navigated personal challenges on the path to motherhood, which led me to reevaluate who I was and what truly mattered. Even with a background in psychology, product design, and branding, personal style remained elusive. I had explored identity from many angles, but when it came to style, I realized it’s not something you “find”. It’s something you’re already doing.
That realization shaped my philosophy: style is how you use the tools around you to function, feel, and show up. It’s personal, intuitive, and layered. And when you understand it, it becomes powerful.
My journey with color analysis began through years of independent research and study, but it became clear that to take my knowledge further and gain access to professional tools to do it right and with certainty, I needed formal certification. That led me to become a certified Sci/ART color analyst, using one of the most structured, science-based methods available.
If you know me well, you already know I need logic, structure, and clarity, but I also love to explore the abstract and find ways to make sense of it.
For me, color analysis isn’t just about “looking good”, it’s one of the many starting points in one’s personal style journey.
My goal is to help you use style as a tool, for self-expression, connection, and personal growth.
If any of this resonates with you, I invite you to follow along.
