What made Baxter Health’s redesignation even more remarkable was the recognition of nine exemplars by the Magnet appraisal team. Exemplars are not required for Magnet status. They are optional, highly specific distinctions awarded when appraisers identify a concept, practice or program so exceptional it is worthy of imitation by other organizations. Receiving nine exemplars is not a common outcome. It reflects a level of nursing practice that does not just meet the standard but sets it.
