“As a cartoonist, children’s illustrator and author, I am on a quest to bring joy, laughter, and a touch of whimsy into the world. I strive to create playful and relatable narratives that tickle the imagination and provide an escape from the complexities of everyday life. I find inspiration in the ordinary, turning mundane moments into extraordinary adventures, with a dose of good humor. I hope to bring smiles to the faces of those who encounter my work, reminding all to embrace the childlike wonder within us and find joy in the simplest of things.”

Today we're highlighting one of our artists on Kaijunior, Emily Drouin. Emily is an award-winning illustrator with a portfolio spanning books, comics, games, animation, and visual design. Emily has published over sixteen books, including the FAPA Gold Award–winning Best Picture Books How the Pirates Saved Christmas and The Pirate Who Learned to Love. In addition to her illustration work, Emily is the Founder of Kids Con New England, a bi-annual comic convention for kids dedicated to promoting art education and literacy. She also serves as Vice Chair of the New England Chapter of the National Cartoonists Society. We’re thrilled to have her bringing her creativity and talents to Kaijunior and its future installments!
