Have you ever wondered what goes into building a professional video edit?

This is a behind-the-scenes look at a recent grand opening launch video we created for The Collective, with the finished piece playing alongside the actual edit.

There’s a lot happening in a timeline like this. Footage, graphics, music, sound design, pacing, color, and plenty of small decisions along the way that shape how the final video comes together.

Most of that work is never meant to stand out on its own. It’s all there to make the final piece feel polished, intentional, and complete.

When you see all the layers side by side, you get a much better sense of the thought and detail that goes into a professional edit and how each piece plays a role in the final result.

A small glimpse into the job of a director.

This was from a promotional video we created for Toocan last year. Working with kids always makes for a fun set, and sometimes the direction is as simple as helping them understand what you’re looking for and giving them the space to make it their own.

A little direction, a few takes, and then seeing it come together in the final shot.

Always fun to show a little of what happens on the other side of the camera.
