Last Saturday, I experienced something I’ll never forget.
For almost a year, I’ve had the privilege of managing social media and helping shape the marketing strategy for the Joe Beretta Heart Foundation. During that time, I’ve written stories about their volunteers, highlighted their board members, promoted their events, and shared the impact they’re making in the lives of families facing heart failure.
In many ways, I felt like I knew this organization intimately. After all, when you’re creating content for a nonprofit week after week, you learn the names, the stories, the milestones, and the mission. Sometimes, it feels almost like being a stalker (haha).
But then I attended Dinner In The Vines Benefiting Joe Beretta Heart Foundation, and suddenly, everything became real in a completely different way.
For the first time, I met the founder, the staff, the board members, and the volunteers I’ve spent months writing about. I met the people who have dedicated hundreds of hours to this mission because they believe no family should face a heart failure diagnosis alone.
Most importantly, I sat down and shared a meal with families whose lives have been touched by this organization.
No social media post, marketing campaign, or impact report could have prepared me for those conversations.
I saw firsthand that this foundation isn’t just funding programs or hosting events. It’s creating community. It’s providing hope. It’s reminding families that they are not alone during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
As marketers, we often talk about “impact.” Last weekend, I got to witness it.
If you’re looking for an organization to support, volunteer with, donate to, or simply learn more about, I cannot recommend The Joe Beretta Heart Foundation enough.
And if you missed Dinner in the Vines this year, mark your calendars now. Next year will be their 10th Anniversary celebration, and after experiencing this event for the first time, I can confidently say it’s something special.
Thank you to everyone who welcomed me into your community. It was truly an honor.
