Last night was shaken, stirred, and sprinkled with a whole lot of ambitious women.

I attended the Heels & Handshakes Martini Class, and let me tell you—it was olive the fun! From mixing up the most delicious cucumber martini to clinking glasses with a room full of incredible women entrepreneurs, the night was the perfect blend of inspiration, connection, and cocktails.

A huge cheers to Baby for hosting such a fabulous class. That cucumber martini? Absolutely sip-tacular. 🍸🥒

And can we raise a glass to R C H E R H O U S E ? The home was stunning and the perfect backdrop for an evening filled with laughter, networking, and a little liquid courage to spark new conversations.

We mixed, mingled, laughed, and inspired each other one martini at a time. The only thing missing? Another round.

Until next time, I’ll be over here trying to recreate that cucumber martini and reliving all the fun. Cheers, ladies! 🍸

I watched someone waste a lot of money at CMA Fest.

They were handing out free hats in exchange for social media follows.

The problem?

Most people didn’t want to follow them—they wanted a free hat.

Followers don’t pay your bills. Customers do.

Stop chasing followers and start creating content that makes people know, like, and trust you.

P.S. Got a marketing idea? Send it to me before you spend the money. I might save you a few thousand bucks. 😉

Changing my logo this month is the first time I’ve ever done this since owning my agency.

To be honest, this post makes me a little nervous.

I built my business in small-town Texas. Over the years, I’ve experienced both incredible support and painful hate because I’m in a same-sex relationship. I’ve lost business because of it. I’ve had people judge me before they ever got to know me.

But I’ve also experienced love, encouragement, acceptance, and people who stood beside me when it mattered most.

The good has always come with the bad.

For a long time, I stayed quiet. Not because I was ashamed, but because I was taught that keeping parts of myself hidden made other people more comfortable.

This year, I’m done doing that.

As someone who owns a social media agency, one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is this:

“The moment you start speaking your truth is the moment you start finding your people.”

And if I’m being completely honest, I don’t want everyone anymore.

I want my people.

I want to be surrounded by a community of support, allies, acceptance, and love. I want to work with people who value authenticity. I want clients, friends, and connections who celebrate people for who they are instead of criticizing them for it.

Will I lose people because of this post?

Probably.

But I believe I’ll gain so much more.

This logo change isn’t just about Pride Month.

It’s about finally refusing to shrink myself to fit inside someone else’s comfort zone.

It’s about showing up exactly as I am.

And if that helps even one person feel seen, supported, or brave enough to do the same, then it’s worth it.

🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride Month.

With love,

This trend actually isn’t cute to me because Friendly reminder:

Social media management is not a 24/7 emergency room.

If every post is last minute, that’s not a content problem.

That’s a planning problem.

Your social media manager should be helping you stay 30 days ahead, not 30 minutes behind.

Now excuse me while I go watch country music and let the scheduled content do its thing. 🤠

If you are always texting your SMM for last min post, call me. I will plan it out for you.

You hired a social media team to help you grow your business… but somehow you’re still asking:

“Why am I getting likes but not sales?”

Here’s the truth nobody wants to tell you:

Social media’s job is to get attention.
Your sales process is what turns attention into revenue.

That’s why we’ve added email marketing to our content packages.

Because if you’re spending money creating content but you’re not capturing names, emails, and leads, you’re depending on strangers to remember you when they’re ready to buy. Most won’t.

When someone watches your content, clicks a link, downloads a freebie, or joins your email list, now we can track what happens next. We can see how many people opted in, opened emails, clicked links, and showed interest in your offer.

The best part?

You own your email list.

Algorithms change.
Accounts get hacked.
Reach fluctuates.

Your email list belongs to you.

Social media gets the attention.
Email marketing nurtures the relationship.
Your sales process closes the deal.

That’s how businesses win online.

If you’re investing in content but not building a list, you’re leaving money on the table.

Let’s change that.

Some days—and let’s be honest, some weeks—can feel really stressful. When things get overwhelming, I try to pause and remember why I started and focus on the things I’m grateful for. Gratitude has a way of shifting your perspective and reminding you that even on the hard days, there’s still so much good.

What’s one thing you’re grateful for about what you get to do for work? Let’s spread a little gratitude in the comments. ❤️
