From Louisiana roots to Nashville studios, Amanda Shaw leans deeper into who she is on her upcoming album. ‘Rhythm of My Roots.’

As she puts it, “Leaving here made me more inspired about being from here,” a feeling that runs through every track… bridging tradition and evolution while “linking traditional Cajun music with modern elements for something that’s decidedly Americana.”

February 16, 2013 - The day I moved from my small country town in South Mississippi to Nashville. My Mom & Dad helped load me up in a U-Haul, drove me 500 miles north and I’ve never looked back since… Well, except that one time, when 3 months after I moved I told my roommate I was going to Kroger (I thought I really was!) and ended up driving the 500 miles back south and showed up at my sister’s house at 3am so I didn’t scare my parents 😂… I feel like I grew up in Nashville in a lot of ways… 23 to 36 is a JOURNEY, y’all! And one I’m so glad I’ve gotten to take so far. I wish everyday I could call my Dad and tell him what I’m working on and the new music I’m constantly discovering. I think he’d be proud of me… and I know he’d dig all the music! So Songwriters and Artists, please keep making it so I can keep sharing it with the world forever. 🖤💚🖤💚 —Natalie
