✨ Meet the Team Tuesday ✨

This week, we’re spotlighting our own Christina Sanjuan!

Christina is part of the team at Extol Media and serves as a meteorologist for Extol Weather, where she helps keep our community informed with local forecasts, storm coverage, and weather updates. You can also catch her alongside Angie and Ben Mondays at 9 AM on Extol Unfiltered!

She’s been a meteorologist for nearly a decade after graduating from University of Louisville with a degree in Atmospheric Science. Her career has taken her from Louisville to Mobile, Kansas City, and Colorado Springs before returning back home to Southern Indiana in 2022.

Born and raised in Columbus, IN, Christina now lives locally in Floyd County with her two kids, ages 6 and 8, and her dog, Chicken. 🐶

When she’s not tracking storms or creating forecasts, Christina loves spending time with her family and being actively involved in the Southern Indiana community she cares so much about.

It is with heavy hearts that the Star Valley Strawberry Festival Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Star Valley Strawberry Festival scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd.

Due to extreme flooding at Borden Community Park and continued wet weather expected throughout the rest of the week, the park conditions are simply not safe or hospitable for the events we had planned.

We know how much this festival means to our community, and this decision was not made lightly. We share in your disappointment.

Please note the following important updates:
🍓 The Berry Run/Walk 5K WILL continue as planned, but the course may change. Stay tuned.
🍓 All vendors will be refunded.
🍓 Flats of strawberries will still be available for purchase for $30 per flat at the Family Dollar parking lot. More details on timing and pickup will be shared soon, so stay tuned.

We sincerely thank our volunteers, sponsors, vendors, entertainers, and community members for their support and understanding. While we are heartbroken that this year’s festival cannot move forward as planned, we are already looking ahead to brighter skies and sweeter days ahead.
