LIFE UPDATE: WE MOVED TO THE DC AREA 🇺🇸

If you feel like you only just saw a life update where we announced our move to eastern NC, you would be right 😆 after a short 20 months in New Bern, North Carolina (where this picture was taken), we just moved near Washington DC so that Bryce can begin his 4 year residency at Walter Reed Hospital to become an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon! 👨‍⚕️

To be honest, I’m not super sure what this page will look like. Bryce is going to be gone for 80+ hours per week, so I may just be solo parenting and foodie-ing most of the time. We are thrilled to be around such a wide variety of delicious eats, so I plan to share our adventures, as well as residency wife life! SO excited to be here, and hope to be sharing more soon 🙌🏼

We are loving working our way through the restaurants in downtown New Bern on date nights, and that has led us to !
We loved the modern, classy, and cozy vibes of both the restaurant and the food. Delicious shrimp and grits, and the Southern burger was everything we wanted it to be 😋 we definitely enjoyed rounding out our email with the Orange Crème Brûlée 🍊 we will for sure be back for more!

We will be the first to admit that we have been sleeping on , but now we know where you can find top notch Mexican food in New Bern that makes you feel like you are in San Diego!

We’d go back for every single thing we tried:

🔥 Quesabirria Tacos: so flavorful. We took a bite and looked at each other and that’s all we needed to do to know that we were both in love with these tacos 😍
🔥 Tacos Dorados: we enjoyed ordering chicken taquitos/flautas at our favorite taquerias growing up in Arizona, and these delivered! 😋
🔥 Carne Asada Fries: MASSIVE. Perfect. 👌
🔥 California Burrito: again, massive and everything a California burrito should be!

We love this place SO much. Since this is a popular one, what does everyone love from El Taco Loco? We were big fans of what we tried but we are always willing to order something new! 😋

We stumbled upon a solid sushi restaurant in Havelock that may just be our go-to from now on 🍣

Shimoda is a no-frills Japanese restaurant serving fresh fish fast and with great prices! Rolls range from $8-$15- we are all about that 👍 it’s order-at-the-counter style, and we were in and out in 30 minutes!

We liked all that we tried, but most highly recommend the Havelock roll and the Mariner 😋 BRB .usa 😍

We LOVED ! This is a pricier spot, but the quality is unmatched 💯

The rolls we tried (and would definitely get again) are the spicy salmon roll, the pepper salmon, and the volcano tuna roll. Each a masterpiece with high quality fish! 🍣

We are loving eating our way through downtown New Bern 😋 Where should we try next?

NORTH CAROLINA- it’s time for you all to fall in love with dirty sodas! 🥤

is out here serving up sodas like they make ‘em in Utah- but with a southern flair! We are so happy to have this option in Eastern NC. 🫶🏼
