Two young girls ready to take on the world. On this day 15 years ago, I made Trade Ideas official and Ava celebrated sleeping in her big girl room for the first time. Together we were waiting to welcome her brother/sister the following month. Because what better time is there to start a company when baby #2 is on the way? Timing is everything and it’s been quite a ride! What started as a way to payoff a credit card has blossomed into an exciting career in design, and one that I am proud of having. There are many people who have played important roles along the way so over the next few weeks, I’ll be highlighting many of them and/or their work. My father always told me one of the most important things in life is a good education, but equally important are the people you meet along the way. What an amazing group I am lucky to know!

On Wednesday evening, September 1, 2021, the held its Stakeholder Meeting with well over 100 guests in attendance. The event, which highlighted Craven County’s economic accomplishments over the last 7 1/2 years, through the funds invested in the AccelerateCraven Capital Campaign, was by all accounts a wonderful celebration for this community. ideas is honored to be part of the marketing efforts for this hardworking organization. Excited about all the good things coming to Craven County through these partnerships!

It was a BIG night at New Bern Riverfront Convention Center as Craven 100 Alliance held its Stakeholder Meeting to laud 6 years of tremendous growth in Craven County! What a wonderful opportunity to be part of such an impressive economic generator. We’re helping kickoff a new phase in our People Attraction campaign and it’s going to be nothing short of amazing. Great job to everyone involved in helping plan this wonderful event!

One of our class resources that is most in need of funding is music. Lindsy Kievit, Donna Harmatuk, and the group at Donna & Team New Bern see the need for funding for these resources. For the 2021-22 school year, they are funding four $1,000 grants for our music teachers in Craven County. This grant will be made available to all Craven County Schools music teachers at all school and grade levels. Lindsy Kievit and agent Mary Silver were recognized, on behalf of Team Capelli Donna by the PIE board at the August meeting for the funding of this grant.
