Hi everyone! I’m currently exploring my next opportunity and wanted to share a bit about my background in case anyone here knows of teams hiring or interesting projects.

Over the past 8+ years, my work has focused on content strategy, social media, community building, and mission-driven storytelling.

Some of the work I’m most proud of includes:

• Building and leading a 5,000-member marketing community
• Hosting two sold-out in-person retreats for that community
• Bringing a New York Times bestselling author into the community for a live event to create additional value for members
• Serving as Event Coordinator and Vice President for a local breast cancer nonprofit, where we organized galas and fundraising events while facilitating resources and support for women facing cancer diagnoses
• Helping develop a program that provided “wish experiences” for women facing stage 4 diagnoses with short prognoses

A lot of my work centers around helping organizations turn meaningful missions into stories and experiences that people want to engage with, both online and in person.

I’m especially interested in roles involving:

• Content strategy
• Social media strategy
• Community building and audience growth
• Nonprofit communications and fundraising storytelling
• Events, engagement, and brand partnerships

I’m currently prioritizing remote or hybrid roles, as I split time between two major metro areas.

If anyone knows of teams doing meaningful work that could use someone with this kind of background, I’d love to connect.

Not sure if you guys remember my friend Grayson, from Grayson’s Lemonade Oasis & Treats, but he's headed to the Easter International Cup in Manchester, UK. He was able to raise all of the funds needed to get there.

I helped with marketing efforts during the Fall and helped make this banner to send him off soon, but you guys....

He worked tirelessly, during the soccer season, during the holidays, and all of the weekends to raise the funds to make this happen. It's an incredible testament to his work ethic and the kind of human his parents are raising to take on the world. SO SO proud! Sara Murphy, you've done an amazing job!

A current professional situation has reinforced the value of clear process and ethical standards.

Payment has stopped, while I still retain backend access to accounts I do not own.

It’s an uncomfortable position and one that highlights the importance of professional standards.

I have a standing policy of not removing myself from accounts I do not own.

That policy exists because I learned the hard way that voluntarily relinquishing access before matters are resolved can create larger professional issues.
Unclear accountability.
Disputed work.
Loss of appropriate safeguards.

So now, I follow process. Always.

When payment stops and expectations are no longer aligned, the next step isn’t emotional. It’s procedural.

That’s why this is moving into small claims court.

The lesson here isn’t about blame. It’s about ethics.

If you run a service-based business, especially one that involves backend access, ethical clarity matters.
Clear contracts.
Clear policies.
And the discipline to uphold professional standards even when it’s uncomfortable.

Professional standards exist to protect everyone involved.

Consistency gets a lot of credit.

And yes — showing up matters.
But consistency alone doesn’t create clients.

What converts is clarity.
Connection.
And content that helps someone see themselves in what you’re saying.

If your posts are consistent but not effective, it’s not a sign to quit.
It’s a sign to adjust what your content is doing — not how often you post it.

This is where most businesses get stuck.
And it’s also where things start to shift when you know what to look for.

💾 Save this for your next content reset.

Visibility gets misunderstood.

Most service-based business owners think it means:
posting more
being everywhere
trying harder to be seen

But real visibility isn’t about volume —
it’s about recognition.

When someone feels understood by your content,
they don’t just notice you.
They remember you.
They trust you.

And that’s where momentum actually starts.

If showing up has felt heavy, forced, or draining lately,
it might be time to stop performing
and start connecting.

💾 Save this if connection matters more than reach.

I’m Holli Metz—founder of The Social Shift—and I help women-owned, service-based businesses build visibility that actually feels like them.

I’m a single mom, a business owner, and someone who understands what it means to carry a lot—personally and professionally—while still wanting your work to be seen and valued. Social media doesn’t need to feel performative or overwhelming. It can be intentional, sustainable, and grounded in what actually works.

I don’t chase trends or virality.
I focus on clarity, consistency, and connection—because those are the things that build trust and lead to long-term growth.

My work centers on story-driven strategy that helps you:
• Show up consistently without burning out
• Communicate your value clearly so the right people recognize themselves in your message
• Build a presence that supports your business, not one that constantly demands more from you

Because I’m living the balance between motherhood and entrepreneurship myself, everything I offer is built with real life in mind—flexible, thoughtful, and honest.

What I bring to the table:
• Personalized content strategies rooted in your voice
• Sustainable consistency (no pressure to “keep up”)
• Messaging clarity that grows trust over time
• Support that feels collaborative, not transactional

If you’re ready for marketing that feels more human—and more effective—I’d love to connect.

Send me a message or text 830-318-9119 to start the conversation.

When people see themselves in your story, they stick around.
That’s the power of connection.

Merry Christmas from The Social Shift.

As the year winds down, we want to say thank you to the businesses who trusted us with their stories this year. That trust matters — not just because it’s our work, but because behind every brand is a real person, a real livelihood, and a lot of heart.

We’re grateful to do this work alongside business owners who care deeply about what they’re building and how they show up in the world. Thank you for letting us be part of that.

Wishing you a restful holiday and a strong start to whatever comes next.

🚨 Facebook link limits: real update, real talk 🚨

You might’ve seen the screenshots flying around about Facebook limiting link posts unless you’re Meta Verified. Here’s what’s actually happening — without the fear-mongering.

👉 Yes, Meta is testing limits on how many external links you can include in organic posts if you’re not Meta Verified.
For some Professional Mode profiles and Business Pages, that looks like as few as 2 link posts per month.

Before we spiral, here’s the context 👇

What this is really about:
• Facebook wants people to stay on Facebook
• Link posts have had the lowest reach for years
• This is part of Meta’s push toward paid features (surprise 🙃)

What’s NOT changing:
✔️ You can still put links in the comments
✔️ Ads aren’t affected
✔️ Links to Meta platforms (IG, WhatsApp, etc.) aren’t restricted
✔️ Personal profiles not in Professional Mode seem unaffected (for now)

Who’s seeing it most:
• Professional Mode profiles
• Business & public Pages
• Rollouts vary by region and account (hence the mixed screenshots)

The takeaway (and this matters):
This isn’t the end of organic visibility — it’s a reminder of something we’ve known for a long time:

✨ Content that connects beats content that just redirects.

Storytelling, education, video, and conversation-first posts are still winning. Links are becoming the follow-up, not the headline.

Let’s make it all feel more human — and more effective.

If you want help adjusting your content rhythm so your most important links still work without fighting the algorithm, I’ve got you. 💛

I’m Holli Metz—a visibility strategist and strategic marketing partner for women-led businesses who want growth that actually fits their life.

I help business owners clarify their message, lead their visibility with intention, and build marketing systems that support sustainable growth—without chasing trends or performing online.

My work blends strategy and story. I look at the full picture: how your brand sounds, how it shows up, and how people experience it over time. The goal isn’t louder marketing—it’s clearer marketing that builds trust and drives decisions.

I work best with women who are established, capable, and tired of guessing. You don’t need more ideas. You need direction, consistency, and someone who understands both the business and the human behind it.

This is thoughtful visibility. Grounded strategy. Marketing that works because it feels like you.

Because at the heart of every great brand is a story someone needed to hear.

I’ve been having a lot of conversations lately about storytelling — and I want to share something that keeps coming up:

Your story doesn’t have to be dramatic to be meaningful.

You don’t need a huge life event to connect with your audience.
You just need to start noticing the moments that already matter.

Like:

something a client said that stayed with you,

a shift you felt after making a hard decision,

a small moment that reminded you why you do what you do,

a belief you returned to on a day that felt heavy.

If your content has felt stuck or flat, it’s not because you don’t have stories.
You have more than you think.

Try this:
Share the moment.
Share what it taught you.
Share why it matters for the way you show up now.

That’s it.
Simple. Honest. Real.

People don’t need perfect content.
They want something that feels human — grounded, intentional, and unmistakably yours.
