Advertising has never been better at finding people. Audience data, behavioral layers, demographic precision — we can reach almost anyone.
But there's an older question worth asking again: where is that person when the message reaches them?
Call it the power of the last 500 feet. A restaurant ad viewed at home at 9 a.m. is one impression. The same message seen at noon, two blocks from the door, is doing a completely different job. A retail promotion days before a shopping trip builds awareness. Near the store, it drives action.
OAAA and Morning Consult found that 68% of adults notice OOH advertising while traveling to retail stores, and 42% say it influences their in-person purchasing decisions.
The commuter. The shopper. The patient in the waiting room. The employee deciding where to grab lunch. These are real people, in real places, at moments when the environment makes the message matter more.
Not all impressions are created equal. Context changes their value.
