‘Cause there’s a hunger
And a thirst
I am desperate
Immerse me
I’m not waiting
Not anymore
I need You Lord

Have you ever been stopped by the Holy Spirit about a Bible verse you’ve read a hundred times but it suddenly jumps out to you?
Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

We’ve heard it a thousand times, but I’m feeling it. The greatest freedom I’ve ever felt, that you could ever have, is when your hunger for God is more than anything in this world. All the empty, carnal and fleshly things fade away. His concerns become your concerns. And the things you’re worried about in the flesh take less and less space in your head. They have less control over your decisions. I remember seeing other believers live like this years ago and I could never figure it out. As it turns out… they were simply free. Because they desired and chose Jesus everyday.

I pray you’ll choose Jesus everyday over the things of this world. There is nothing like this.

Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
Proverbs 4:23

In Hebrew thought, the heart isn’t just your emotions. It’s the center of your inner life - your mind, will, thoughts, desires. It’s the control center.

The Hebrew word for guard is nāṣar - to watch over, protect, keep like a fortress. We’re meant to guard our hearts like a city under protection, not casually, but intentionally.

There are obvious things to guard against: what we watch, what we listen to, who we allow close. But there’s something less obvious - guarding our hearts from disappointment.

Last night my daughter felt sad because her best friend can’t visit anytime soon. She had her hopes up. She had been praying. But our friends are on the mission field, building what God called them to build. They can’t just come and go. Even though she knew that, her heart still felt the letdown.

I’ve felt that too. Things not going the way I hoped. Misreading situations because my expectations were rooted more in what I wanted than in what God was doing. I recently got on that emotional rollercoaster myself - and by God’s grace, got off quickly enough to learn from it and teach my kids.

Disappointment often slips in when we don’t watch the thoughts we allow to settle in our hearts. When we elevate our desires above surrender. When we build expectations without first catching God’s heart.

If our priority is what God is doing in the current season, we’re far less likely to let the walls of our heart be overtaken by wrong thoughts. I’ve let them in before - and it cost me every time.

Your heart is not a dumping ground. It’s a city. It’s the source from which your life flows like a river. Guard it well.

The intercessor also needs to be interceded for.
The giver must also be thought of.
The person who empties themselves helping others must also be refreshed.

We sometimes wonder why we don’t see revival, but it’s often because we are consumed by ourselves. Our own needs. Our own comforts. Our own sufferings.

But usually, when we spend time praying for others, at the end of it, we realize how much we have to be thankful for, and just how small our issues actually are in the grand scheme of things.

If you draw near to the Lord tonight and pray for your own needs, don’t forget to pray for your loved ones, your leaders, and the lost people you’ve ministered to. You may not see the impact right here and now - but one day, you’ll see what effect your prayers had in eternity.

Thursday night, somewhere between asleep and awake, before 7am - I slipped into that space where my thoughts aren’t fully mine, but I’m not dreaming either. God often speaks to me there.

I was in a white room filled with floating round stopwatches. I walked through them, turning them over one by one. Every single one was red and said NO in white. I kept going. Finally, I flipped one more, and it said YES in green.

There was more to it that I can’t share, but this part needs to be shared.

Our times are in God’s hands. Yet how often do we keep “checking the clock,” pressuring Him to tell us if it’s time? If the promise is coming? If the prayer will be answered? We flip the watch over and over and see what feels like no. Or silence.

But so often, “no” is really just “not yet.”

There is an appointed time for everything. And sometimes the silence eventually becomes the answer. In dire circumstances, “not yet” cannot last forever.

Every time you flip that watch face over, it’s you asking, seeking, knocking - exactly what Jesus told us to do. You may receive a hundred “not yet” responses. But everyone who asks receives. Everyone who seeks finds. Everyone who knocks - the door will be opened.

I’ll be honest, I’ve been hyper-focused on God’s timing lately after hearing Him promise me something a long time ago. I’ve cycled through it all: pleading, giving up, blaming myself, surrendering, standing in faith. But someone wise reminded me this weekend that receiving a promise at all is a blessing. Delay doesn’t mean denial.

Just hearing God is an honor. His sheep know His voice. It’s evidence of intimacy. Sometimes He speaks not so we can force fulfillment, but so we’ll pray.

The enemy would love to wear you out and make you stop believing. Don’t grow weary in doing good. At the proper time, you will reap a harvest if you don’t give up.

My memory is on struggle mode sometimes, but I don’t think I can ever forget these faces. They are burned into my memory forever. I felt the intensity of God’s love for them. I felt the way his heart longed for a relationship with them. I felt the gravity of peoples’ decisions for eternity. With everything in me - I pray that I’ll see them in heaven one day when we all meet Jesus.
As much as I want to make an amazing recap reel, I want to just share as I feel led to for now. My heart is to share what God did in New Orleans for his creation that he loves and longs for, and what he did in us too - those of us who went to preach.
If you see this post, please take a moment to stop scrolling and pray a prayer for these people. 🥺❤️

This fire team and I just spent the last 4 days in New Orleans, Louisiana preaching the gospel during Mardi Gras. I have hundreds of videos and photos to sort through. I can’t possibly share everything at one time. I just wanted to drop these few group photos and express my deep appreciation to be able to go on this trip, and to preach with some of the best preachers I’ve ever known. I’m also incredibly thankful to the Raven team who hosted me and was so hospitable and kind. I loved experiencing the way they do ministry. I will most certainly be back if the Lord wills. 🥲❤️

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”

Ecclesiastes 3:11

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

Psalm 27:14

God’s timing is not our timing. But one thing I know for sure is that his timing is always perfect. While I wait for God to fulfill a great promise he has given me, I still see his hand in everything. I may not see how he is working. But while we wait on God, we renew our strength. He strengthens our stamina and faith for these long periods.

I think that God will speak to us about a future time NOT so that we can jump the gun and force it to happen on our own. He tells us ahead of time simply so that we can pray and trust him. What’s meant for us won’t pass us by. If something is God’s will and he spoke it, it will surely come to pass (Numbers 23:19). If something is meant to happen, it will happen - if we’re in his will, living in obedience and being attentive to his voice.

God has taken ALL things into consideration when he promises something for the future. The hard part is believing and having faith. But we must hold onto his word at all times in this process.

I will choose to trust him in the unknown, and I pray that you will, too.

I keep coming back to reflecting on the question, “what moves God’s heart?”

There was a prayer I gave up on after I felt that the door was shut. I had been fervently praying and believing that it would come through. And then it didn’t.
I went to bed with one more feeble, humble prayer. “Not my will, but Yours be done.” I laid it to rest and figured maybe I didn’t hear God at all. No more hootin and hollering. 😆😭 just giving it to him and trusting in his decisions.
And then, suddenly it came through. In such a miraculous way that I knew it was only him.

Time and time again, God has a history of moving in my life after I’ve stopped the desperation and rested in his embrace. When I’ve simply rested in the fact that he is sovereign and surrendered my will to his. And when I choose to worship even when things are painful, even when I don’t understand. When I’m choosing to trust his heart even if I don’t see his hand. When my faith is in his character and goodness, not in what he can give me. Worship is the most beautiful sign of vulnerable trust and surrender. You don’t worship to get something. You worship because of God being good.

I want to share something vulnerable about this moment in this picture. In this moment I worshipped, I felt an ache in my heart and a barrenness that I did not like. I wanted to run away. But God gently spoke to me. He said, “stay.” More than once. I stayed. Not because I expected him to give me something, but because I knew that he is good. How kind of him to even speak to us at all. And he was Jehovah Shammah. The God who is There.

So; to answer the question, what moves God’s heart? It’s not desperation for a prayer to be answered. It’s surrendering your will to him in worship because you know his character. Sometimes he responds quickly in a tangible way. Other times he simply wraps his arms around us when we need him. But either way, his heart is moved by our hearts for him. Trust who he is over what he can give you, and you will never be disappointed.

Recently I have taken the time in prayer to thank God for his names.
I realized that God not only has a name for just about every circumstance…
But his names to call on are for the broken, the weary, those who are fighting, those who are in need of saving.

I have always called on El Roi, the God who sees me. I even have a piece of prophetic jewelry I wear constantly with the word “seen” engraved on it that was made just for me.
But lately this one other name keeps standing out to me.
Jehovah Shammah. The LORD Is There.

I’ve reflected on how he was there for me during the loneliest, most painful months of 2025 and the worst part of 2024. He allowed it, but not without reason. Realizing that he used those times to draw near to me and shape me, and teach me how to hear from him - as much as I hated going through it at the time, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Those moments where he was THERE when I felt the most alone in some ways put a burning desire in me to know him more. To hide his word deep in my heart and read it and study it daily.

If I had to choose who I want to be THERE with me in the fire, hands down, I will always choose him.

He lives up to his names. Every last one of them, in my life. And for now, the most powerful action God has done for me was not all the miracles, and all the times he spoke to me and it came to pass.

Rather, it was the way he shaped me in the quiet, simply because he was just there. And I acknowledged his presence. And that awareness of his presence in the room with me did a deeper work than witnessing any extravagant tangible miracle.

When you don’t know where to turn, call on Jehovah Shammah. He will surely be there.

Since when did we forget that God doesn’t just bring people together … He prepares them first?

Since when did we forget that marriage begins with two people pursuing Jesus before pursuing each other?

I made a mistake once. A 12 year long mistake cost me everything.

I could have many regrets, but instead, I see it as an opportunity to help others and teach them these truths.

I learned that in order to find the right one, you need to be the right one first. And I truly wasn’t mature enough to discern that I was rushing into something terrible. Even though the warnings were in front of me, I chose to ignore them, because I didn’t like the waiting and preparation process.

I learned that rather than chasing after a person, I should have been seeking Jesus with my whole heart. The person is very likely going to be found when your heart is hidden in Christ.

Choosing based on preference alone is going to cost you. The price is going to be unbelievably high - higher than you would ever want to pay. Choosing based on what God reveals, shows you, speaks to you about - based on your own calling - will allow God’s best, his perfect will for your life.

Give your whole heart and your entire being to Jesus, and the odds of someone showing up who’s doing the same thing are very likely. at least that’s what I’ve been told. Chasing after the fleshly things of this world will only leave you disappointed. Chase after Jesus first. You’ll never regret putting him first. When Jesus is your first love, the desires of this world fade away - and you’ll see clearly the things that matter the most.

This isn’t a “wait for your spouse” post. This is me urging you to seek Jesus while he may be found. This is me telling you that it’s better to stick with Jesus than to make a bad decision. This isn’t me telling you to seek Jesus and then your spouse will come - this is me telling you to JUST seek JESUS.

Exodus 17:15-16
Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner. He said, “Because hands were lifted up against the throne of the Lord, the Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation.”

Aaron and Hur held up Moses’ tired hands during battle so that the Amalekites could be defeated.

He has held up MY tired hands all this time.
And he has fought for me, and been my banner of victory.
He has defended me when I couldn’t defend myself.
He has given me armor that protected me when I could not protect myself.

I have never seen God do what he’s done for me all these years. I’m always surprised by the way he goes before me and behind me. He accounts for every detail. His attention to every small thing is so evident in my life. And he has fought battles for me that I would have lost if it depended on my own ability.

Tonight, as I thank God for his names and what they are to me - I thank him that he is Jehovah Nissi in my life. I pray that you will call on him to fight your battles, too. May he surround you with his army of angels at the times you need him most.
