The Minority Leader's comments were an unfortunate gaffe, but nothing more. Didn't President Biden make a similar misstep not long ago, when he said something about “poor kids should have as much access to education as white kids,” or something to that effect?

It's unfortunate that he made this mistake during discussions on such an important matter as voting rights, but I still believe it was an innocent misstep and not indicative of underlying racism.
