Being the mother of an emotional groom is a tender experience I never truly knew I’d feel until now. Watching my first-born son take this incredible step into his next chapter, while holding onto memories of his first steps, is a mixture of joy, nostalgia, and pride. On top of that, capturing every beautiful moment behind the lens as his photographer feels like a gift—a front-row seat to every smile, tear, and glance that tells their love story.
It’s surreal to juggle both roles, my heart bursting with emotions while keeping my hands steady to ensure I capture the magic of this day. There’s something about knowing I’ll hold these memories in both my heart and my camera—preserving them for my son and his new wife, as they start their journey together.
Then comes the aftermath: loading those photos, watching them come to life again, frame by frame. Each image is a reminder of all the love, laughter, and the incredible honor of being part of this day in more ways than one. Editing them is like reliving the wedding, but this time with teary eyes and a heart so full it almost hurts. It’s the bittersweet beauty of motherhood—letting go and holding on all at once.
