From CPG to brick-and-mortar! Congrats to our friends at on the opening of their new 50-seat hummus house and mana’eesh bakery in Minneapolis’s Wedge neighborhood! 🎉

Baba’s was launched in 2018 by Palestinian American siblings Rana Kamal and Khalid Ansari, who grew up working at their father’s restaurant, the Mediterranean Cruise Cafe, and now follow in his footsteps as restaurateurs. What started with them packaging the family hummus recipe has become a thriving CPG brand found at 500 retailers in the region.

The Baba’s cafe will spotlight that hummus in their original Jerusalem street-style hummus bowls, which first became hits at the Minnesota State Fair in 2021, as well as mana’eesh flatbreads. The space will feature a marketplace selling tubs of Baba’s hummus, spice blends, za’atar, and hot sauce—plus products from other Arab + Arab American brands.
