5 Forbidden Phrases You Absolutely Must Avoid in Your Facebook Ad
Did You Know About the Forbidden Rules when copywriting your Facebook Ads?
As such, if you are an Ad Manager building campaigns for clients, or a business owner doing it on your own, small businesses, in particular, should tread lightly with ads that seem too targeted or misleading in any way, as the platform is rejecting them at a much greater rate than before.
Why is that? This will result in a flag in your account and your ads will not be allowed to run until you fix them. Get too many flags and Facebook may shut down your advertising account for good.
Here are 5 Forbidden Phrases You SHOULD Absolutely Avoid with your Ad copy.
1. "Are you a busy mom with no time to make healthy meals for your family?"
Advertisements that directly reference viewers or their pain points are what Facebook calls Personal Attributes.
2. "STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND CLICK HERE!!!"
Facebook doesn't like: Too many uppercase letters and exclamation marks!!!! (in fact, overuse of punctuation is sometimes flagged under Grammar & Profanity).
3. "Tired of diets that don't work? Want to lose weight without counting calories?"
Sensitive topics are the ones that Facebook constantly keeps an eye on - those include weight loss, beauty products, anti-aging products, supplements ... Facebook deals with these issues via its Personal Attributes, Personal Health, or Misleading or False Content policies.
4. "Generate $5,000 in the next 30 days! Join my free webinar to find out how."
Get-rich-quick schemes, work-from-home opportunities, and claims that are unrealistic might be considered misleading by Facebook. Facebook addresses these issues under its MultiLocal Marketing policy, its Prohibited Financial Services policy, and its False Content Policy.
5. "&% #%^@%" (i.e., trying to add curse words to your ads)
What Facebook does not like: Profanity, even a little. Facebook addresses this under its Grammar & Profanity policy.
Now, let's avoid these issues with your ad copy and start building amazing marketing funnels for your campaigns.
